A game made by people who know what they are doing... which is rare these days! AAA quality by a small team when AAA quality by huge teams is anything but.

The gameplay loop is excellent, the engine feels incredibly well optimised, the weapons are second to none in their feel and weight and the way the sound effects add to the gameplay is a beautiful thing to behold.

My only gripe would be that the narrative could be stronger. This may be sorted by the time the game releases, however.

This is possibly the best DLC CA have ever produced. All of the mechanics fit together nicely, the faction feels strong but not OP and there is plenty of content. It is the standard that the rest of the game should be judged by, and I would like to believe that the rest of the game will be updated to reflect its quality, especially with the improved victory conditions.

It is overpriced, though. It should have been 25% cheaper. CA have shot themselves in the foot by creating this negativity over what is essentially a very good piece of DLC and thus creating a host of skewed reviews.

In short, the DLC is great. Just overrpriced.

If you enjoy Lovecraft's works, you'll love this. If you expect an interactive game, you probably won't.

I hope the developers create more in this vein, but it would be nice to have a few more interactive features in the shape, perhaps, of different levels of secrets hidden with the landscape and the ability to walk around key elements (I would have given my back teeth to be able to walk around the monolith and see it from all angles)

So good that they got away with making it an Epic exclusive!
