Fairly solid Half-Life 2 mod with some interesting puzzles and interactive features, suffers a little from the overuse of yellow paint, and has some repetitive ways of preventing the player from progressing certain areas (e.g. using the same fallen tree three times)

But overall, its a pretty good mod that you can get through in about an hour and a half, the fire axe is a very fun crowbar alternative.

Papers, Please
This game is one of the best games I've ever played.

Some people think less of this game for its graphics, gameplay or it's story yet I don't think any of the criticisms based on these examples are too reasonable.

Firstly, the graphics are intentionally simplistic yet have a charm to them that makes them appealing to look at, especially considering you'll be seeing them for the entire game.

Secondly the gameplay loop may at first seem boring but the more you get into the game you'll find it changes itself and surprises you regularly.

!! WARNING: The rest of this will contain spoilers for the story of Papers, Please. !!

And lastly, the story goes as follows
You are an unnamed man living in the fictional nation of Arstotzka who has just won the Labor Lottery, a lottery which allows citizens of Arstotzka to get a job through a lottery. Artsotzka at the time had just gotten out of a brutal war between its neighbour, Kolechia. The war had left the borders between the countries in shambles and only now has a border been opened up for entry, situated right in the split city of Grestin.

Arstotzka's side of East Grestin is only allowing Arstotzkan citizens that were displaced by the war but soon after they begin to allow other immigrants in. Your job is to review and accept or deny immigrants who seek entry into the country for whatever reason. However, after many attacks on the border checkpoint, the security and requirements to enter the country become more and more strict as events transpire.

One day, a mysterious organisation looking to reform the country from its communist style government sends an informant to try and gain your help in their cause. This is where the game really starts to open up in decision making as you get the opportunity to shape your future, your families future and the future of the nation as a whole.

How the game ends is really up to you, you can choose the completely loyalist route and support Arstotzka to the fullest extent, or you could try reform the nation with the help of this mysterious organisation.
In the end, your experience will likely be different every time you play giving the game great replay value.

If you haven't played or heard of Papers, Please then I'd seriously recommend you buy it and give it a go.

Garry's mod holds a special place in my heart.

I have put so many hours into this game and made most of my friends here. On it's own it may seem bare bones, but take one look into the community workshop and you can easily find the right thing for you.
Look into the multiplayer side and you can discover amazing and friendly communities to play with.

It's easily my favourite game.

To start this of, there will be some spoilers for the Subnautica story in this review so look away if you don't want to know it just yet.

Subnautica as I classify it, is an open-world survival horror game.
The reason for this is because of the sheer horror you feel as you descend deeper into the unknown, unknowing of what creatures of the deep could lash out and attack at any moment.

The music of Subnautica is equally beautiful and scary. The music really helps to build atmosphere as you could be in the calm safe shallows with an amazing melody to back it up, but you could also be entering a dark and unexplored cavern that leads down for kilometers with a soundtrack guaranteed to keep the tension and give you goosebumps.

As you explore the planet you find mysterious structures that look nothing alike to your employer's constructions. You begin to ponder whether someone else is or was here, but then those thoughts are all taken away when you answer a call from the radio to find rescue has come at last, but when you arrive at the pickup site you encounter a large alien structure and it all goes wrong.

Subnautica is an excellent game which I have been following for years now, the visuals are beautiful and the music just complements it further. If you can buy it I recommend you do as it is a stunning game with an amazing story.
