This game sucks for one reason and one reason only: THE TUTORIAL IS TWO DAMN HOURS LONG.

Apparently it "eventually" gets good and fun to play, but I'll never know because I'm bored to death by the beginning.

What fool wrote this drivel?

The humor gets in the way of gameplay at times.

Being tongue-in-cheek is one thing, but some instructions are given in ways that are too non-literal.
I'm not having fun. I'd rather this game took itself seriously.

See, I really, really like this game.

But there are game-breaking bugs they never fixed--don't ever build a bioreactor, people, unless you're sure that's where you want it, because you can't delete it even with console commands--and they can ambush you hours after playing. Days, lying in wait, only to suddenly realize that something you should absolutely be able to do is inexplicably... not working.

So, I would not recommend this game unless the developers actually patch that problem after all these years. Or at least put a big ol' warning label on the Store page.

I bought this after having loved Far Cry 3 and 5; never got to 4, for some reason. Maybe someday.
So, I thought I knew what to expect, but what I got was a very pretty downgrade.

Seriously, Far Cry 6 is a beautiful game, but the controls are clunkier, the choppers are way less fun or intuitive to fly, and a lot of the player agency is deprecated. The game is more linear, for sure, despite the bigger map.
Points of Interest can be captured... except for the ones that can't, and it's not always clear which can or cannot because they look the same on the map. Capturing POI works differently for each type, or not at all for some, or only during story missions for some, with no obvious indicator which is which.

And it was clearly optimized for controllers only, with no care given to keyboard+mouse users.

It feels like gameplay was sacrificed for graphics, and that has left me uninstalling this and putting Far Cry 5 back on my machine, just to mess around in New Game+ when I need a good time-waster. Outpost Master in Far Cry 5 is more fun than basically everything about Far Cry 6, if not as nice to look at.

And that's a shame.

Fun...? Not really.
Original...? Not particularly.
Controls...janky.
Subtitles...can't be turned off.
Animation...awful; I can (and have) done better.
Voice acting...similarly awful; I can (and have) done better.

Meh and double-meh.

I want to like this game. I really do. I love the concept, the ambiance and atmosphere are very well executed, and it was kind of scary at first.
...but after about ten minutes, it just became annoying.

- There is no mouse sensitivity setting; looking around is very sluggish
- There is no stealth system; it's very easy to get caught
- There seems to be neither rhyme nor reason to where the flying saucer goes, and once it sees you, there is no escape
- There are some well-executed jump scares, but they're scripted and always happen the same way on every play, so it's not scary anymore
- Each new game requires you to listen to a very lengthy phone call or endure the phone ringing the whole time
- There is no Save; it's always Survival Mode

This game could be amazing, but the gameplay itself needs some work.

I enjoyed this... though I might not have if I hadn't known what I was getting into first.

Pop yourself some popcorn, because this game is, like, 80% movie; you spend more time watching than actually controlling anything. If you're after a choose-your-own-adventure style story with a few Quick Time Events, this is the game for you. When you can directly control a character, it's usually in service of finding items and clues in a limited environment, but that's okay; it's not really the point of the game.

I'm not 100% certain about the replay value; it seems like (most of) the branches in the plot still end up leading to the same events, ultimately. Still, maybe I'll give it another go in a year, once I've forgotten a lot of the specific details.

The acting is good, the story is intriguing, and it looks pretty impressive; I'm quite happy with my purchase.

OMG, this game is so stupid.

Right at the beginning is the most frustrating puzzle I have ever seen. EVER.
The solutions posted online are similarly idiotic.
All just to get into a warhouse.

It's like trying to do the Babel Fish puzzle from the old Infocom "Hitchhiker's Guide" game.
Right at the damn beginning.

Stupid, stupid, STUPID game.

Awful, awful, awful, terrible, no good, very bad game.

- One character demanded a medkit but wouldn't take it; turns out, you have to craft it from specific textile components even if you're holding some and make the medkit with them.
- At one point, my entire equipment wheel got grayed out, I couldn't change what I was holding, and I couldn't shoot with the weapon I'd had equipped.

Crapola, cheap game that doesn't work. DO NOT BUY.
