You will spend more time waiting for the character's animations to finish playing than you will spend using your brain. It took half an hour of tedium before I got to a room that was even the slightest bit challenging.

The Maker's Eden is a linear visual novel about a dystopic, robotic future. I enjoyed the hour I played - the art, characters and setting piqued my interest, but just as the story started to unfold, the first chapter was over with an unsatisfying cliff-hanger ending.

When all 3 chapters are released, this game will probably be worth its pricetag, but don't bother buying it at the moment. It's incomplete.

Mediocre adventure game that has aged poorly. I played it to completion a couple years ago, before it came out on Steam, hence my low playtime. The story isn't very interesting, the puzzles are tedious and often the solutions make no sense. Putting in the effort just wasn't paying off, so I gave up and followed a walkthrough for most of the game.

If you're looking for an oldschool adventure game, look elsewhere. I'd suggest the LucasArts SCUMM games like Loom and The Dig.

The Serious Sam 3 BFE engine is awesome. My graphics card is 6 years old, but this game still managed to look pretty and hit 60FPS.

If you've played Portal, you know what this game is about: a series of self-contained puzzles that involve utilizing the tools provided (lasers, cubes, force field disruptors) to get to the next puzzle. This game sets itself apart by having a wide variety of tools and by being set in a lush outdoor environment.

Though this demo is short, the variety of puzzles, tools, and story elements gives me hope that the gameplay will run much deeper than the many "nameless test subject in a generic futuristic laboratory" puzzle games that we've seen lately. I recommend giving it a try.

3089 is a weird FPSRPG set in a procedurally generated outside world. It has a lot of interesting and unique gameplay mechanics, but very little story. I enjoyed it for the 6 hours it took me to pass the main quest, but the ending was anticlimactic, and I'm so far finding the replay value to be quite low.

This may sound negative so far, but 5 hours of enjoyable, novel gameplay is pretty good for $4. However, I recommend that people play the prequel, 3079, first, as it is cheaper and a bit more fun.

Interesting gameplay mechanics, but ultimately wasn't fun enough to keep me playing until the end.

At $3 this game is an absolute bargain. Don't hesitate, buy it.

This is not Super Meat Boy, but it's close. Mr. Bree+ is a bit less challenging, a bit less interesting, and quite a bit shorter. But it's still a very fun game overall and it's you will definitely get your money's worth.

It was fun for about 30 minutes, but then it was over. 3 stages, 4 permanent skill unlocks, a couple of uninteresting New Game+ unlocks. This is not a very long, engaging or challenging game at all.

This game is pretty, and well put together, but it is BORING!

The core mechanics are painting the world with color, and collecting items. It takes many hours to fully paint the world or collect everything, and there's no reward when you finish, other than a few achievements. To further add to the tedium, there are smaller achievements for painting the 20% or 50% of the world with a specific color. It can take several hours per color, and there are about 10 colors.

This game would be enjoyable if the exploration and painting were more fun, but they're not. You move around slowly and awkwardly, and any desire to experiment with the more intricate mechanics will be promptly subdued by boredom.

If you played platformers in the '90s, you will love this game. It's very similar to Duke Nukem 1 and 2, but it has much better, more interesting level design.

It only takes 90 minutes to complete on Normal difficulty, but if you've ever tried playing Commander Keen or Duke Nukem without the nostalgia goggles, you'd know 90 minutes is actually the perfect amount of time to spend on a 2D low-res platformer before going back to modern games.

Overall, it's fun. Buy it.
