Blender is absolutely amazing, especially considering it's free. Blender even competes quite well with paid 3d-modeling software such as Autodesk Maya. Ignore all negative reviews about this program claiming it to be "unintuitive". It is no more complicated than maya, and it's not meant to be controlled and linear, the reason it is complicated is so that you have freedom. 3D-modeling is an art, like painting, you aren't going to be able to paint convincing still-life the first day you pick up the paintbrush.
