Ori and the Blind Forest is a fantastic game with a charming story and an incredible soundtrack. It took me just over 10 hours (even though Steam currently says 8) to complete the main story. The game is somewhat of a metroidvania with a heavy focus on platforming, with not a large amount of varity in the ways of combat (at least in the beginning). This game also has some very innovative ideas, such as the checkpoint/quick save feature. You can create spirit links at any time (which function as checkpoints for when you die), however doing so uses up energy that could be spent in other ways, mostly different attacks. This system lets you increase the difficulty of parts by choosing to save less often, and vice versa. My favorite section, like many, was the Ginso Tree. The bash mechanic is very fun and makes both combat and movement very fluid and interesting. I highly reccoment this game for those who enjoy platformers, metroidvanias, or both, but you do not need to enjoy these genres to have a great time with Ori. Even though there were some spots where I was frusturated and annyoed, this game still was a great buy and I had fun throughout. I give Ori and the Blind Forest a 9/10.
