Too little variety.
Each victory path is virtually the same. The only interesting one is "Return to Nature," which by the associated achievements name and description, you would assume you would need to win without investing into the science sector at all (this seemed like a pretty possible challenge). Unfortunately you need science to even have a chance at the "Denounce Science" ending. (???)

every time i've escaped a prison in this game my first thought is usually "thats it?"
the difficulty overall is pretty insulting - the only map that actually posed a challenge was the MEDIUM map, HMP Offshore, as escaping it required a red key.

Amazingly well designed puzzle game with an outstanding amount of content that doesn't make it feel repetitive. You'll often be rewarded by discovering mechanics you hadn't known were possible.

This game is absolutely god awful due to to the micromanaging in these game being boring and tedious. Often times in this game you will find yourself constantly clicking on provinces to build buildings. It'd be manageable if it had a macrobuilder like EU4 did, but no. You have to click on the province, click on the building you want, then hit confirm. 3 clicks, if you didn't count. This on top of the fact that you will often be taking large heaps of lands in wars, its just downright painful. Additionally the combat system makes no sense. Having a large standing army is practically useless, as long a the nation your fighting is producing large amounts of money they get it back practically instantly. Also, you have to manually reinforce your armies, When fighting against AI's in a war you declared they almost always, given the chance, will perform a suicidal operation with a small army into your land, causing them to snake through it. There priority should be to defend themselves, not be a massive nuisance to the player.

On the plus side, there is a releasable Cornwall so...
