Early Access Review
So far so good. It is an evolution rather than revolution so perhaps it should be a DLC to the original game rather than its sequel, but all in all it is a joy to play. I am glad there are no microtransactions and season pass and am looking forward for some of my friends to buy it so we could try the co-op mode.

StS2 has the looks of the original, the same nice music and gameplay. If you don't have the original you might consider this one for few nice updates, but if you do have the StS then you won't get much more. I do like the original so for the sequel is money spent well (especially since it quite cheap).

I spent way too much time with this game and was looking forward for the sequel, however looks like lead programmer decided to engage in political activity calling people he disagrees with "fans of certain mid 20-century Austrian painter" so I do not feel comfortable financially supporting this.

It's one of the coolest games I played and one of the most annoying.

At first it is dull but quite early you start gaining skills that make movement and combat so much fun. The mechanism of weapons breaking IMO has no place in action games and is annoying as hell when you are in the middle of a fight against 50 enemies and realise the thing that works the best just broke, but it is not the worst thing in here. The fact that it is an action game and the final mission ends with QTE is also annoying but it's only one mission so not a biggie too. What I was annoyed the most were 3 things:

1. Everything is an animation. You need to break your momentum in order to open a case, search corpse, heal and so on - I know it makes the game more "realistic" but it's a zombie parkour game! It needs to be playable first - realism should be far behind this.
2. You keep losing control. Parts of some missions do not let you do much. It is like a semi-interactive cutscene and it is unskippable! Story in this game is stupid and it is not a bad thing, because it is a game about action and not character development or commenting on crucial aspects of the world around us. In one of the missions I was unable to sprint! I could only walk very slowly. Annoying as hell.
3. You do not have access to the best tool in the crucial moments. I don't think it is a big spoiler to mention that there is a grappling hook available to equip, but you cannot use it when you need it the most! And the excuse is just pathetic "you are too exhausted to use a grappling hook" message pops up but it somehow lets me climb 20m high walls, run and jump regardless.

The most fun I have with the game is when I ignore the story completely and just run around roofs in Old Town. It looks pretty, it runs nice, it's just essence of the game. The DLCs are a mixed bag, but that's ok for people are looking for different things and there is enough variety of content for everyone to pick something they have the most fun with. Considering current price it is a no brainer.

It is not a game for everybody. No game is. It is slow and has little to no interactions but it looks and sounds really pretty. This makes it perfect for children and I have it solely for this purpose.

I like the game. I finished the previous part and enjoyed it for what it is. It does have some technical issues (geometry isn't perfect and you can get stuck in places you shouldn't, significant framedrops are common, input lag and camera are annoying) but I see it as a something to chill down and relax by. It is a nice game to introduce your child to gaming. There is no violence, challenge is nonexistent, you can't get hurt and it looks and sounds just nice.

For those who played the original Hidden Depths: it is basically more of the same. Yes - there are some mechanics added, but nothing important. Map size is more or less the same, so is movement. You explore seed locations and watchtowers as a girl and diaries locations as a boy, but they differ only in the way they look.

I wouldn't (and didn't) buy the game full price, but if you find it discounted to about $5 I think you might get enough fun in it to justify spending this money.

I heard this game was poorly optimised on launch, but currently it runs flawlessly on my pretty old setup. It is as open, intriguing and intense as original part. I am having a lot of fun with it and like to come back to it every now and then.

Nice art style and music, good puzzles and game mechanics. The only complaint I have about this game is its length: I completed it in about 8 hours while playing with my little daughter - I think that more competent players could finish it within 2-3 hours.

I got it for chips on some sale (together with part one), so smile per dollar value is really good.

This game is fun for the first quarter or so. Perhaps an hour if you are dedicated to it. I bought it for my daughter and she was having some fun with it but she too quite swiftly realised how VERY repetitive it is. She plays it for 15 minutes every now and then, but that's it.

It looks decent for what it is, but offers no variety at all. I wouldn't complain that much if you could intentionally put some specific landmarks like fountains, statues and so on, but there is no such thing.

It might be a nice choice if you are into this kind of things when it is on sale. I tried having fun with it for way too long, but for me it was just a waste of time and money.

It's the best Hitler dildo fighting simulator I have ever played.

In order to appreciate this game you should realise that it is most probably not for you - it is for your child, niece, friend's child. It is very calm, it poses close to zero challenge (you can't die in it, the only failure state I can think of is being unable to collect all the 10 resources, but that is pretty easy). It is atmospheric, it is pretty, it is slow.

I find it a great game for 5 year old who just starts the adventure with gaming. It supports XBOX controller nicely and controlling is easy, but with some minor quirks. Visually it is ok. as for indie game from 2015. You might find music monotonous yet enjoyable. The game is built around environment and basic story.

I think children enjoying that kind of entertainment will have nice time with it. The complete lack of action, basic on aesthetics and the fact that main character is a lassie makes it more suited to girls, but I completed it as an adult male and enjoyed it as well. Solid 7/10 (would be more if it was a tad longer).
