I really hate the idea behind extraction shooters. Games of the likes of Tarkov were never my cup of tea. Probably too old and not a sweaty gamer to properly appreciate them.

HOWEVER. Arc Raiders is unlike any other extraction shooter. It has a completely different theme, tremendous art style, the best-in-market sound design, awesome maps full of secrets and the most thought of game mechanics i've encountered trying myself in the genre. And and i had so much fun running around and scavenging ♥♥♥♥, destroying ARC and fighting or teaming up with other raiders.

You need to alter your approach when playing solo and when playing duos and trios with your fiends, however the gameloop is so satisfying, the crazy stuff that is constantly happening is dramatic and hilarious at the same time.

All weapons are viable, even if you get shot first, you can still outmanouver your opponent and win the fight, the loot and the crafting mechanics are very good. Everything this game has to offer is top notch.

Does it have extraction point campers? It does. Does it have people hunting other raiders? Yes. Can it be punishing, especially if you make a mistake? Oh yes, it can. Neither of these makes it unplayable mor frustrating though, at least for me. You learn and progress constantly.

It has been some time since i had so much fun in a online game. I cannot recommend this game enough. Buy it. Play it. You'll see how good it is. #gameoftheyear
