It's juicy and punchy in places you don't expect, the writing is eloquently tight, and combat is the right amount of challenging. You will survive a couple of bullets to the character sprite, but you will not survive stepping on a landmine or dodge rolling into a shotgun blast. You will abuse stealth, like a lone survivor in a harsh world should, and it will feel good. You will want to quicksave after particularly tense encounters. Characters don't waste paragraphs on exposition, but you're still immersed into the mystery. There's an optional challenge of being vegan in a world made of meat. Simply put, Death Trash is fun. It's like the Dorohedoro of RPGs.

Everyone is saying that this game is weird for having flesh krakens and puke-lubricated computers, but that's not the most important part. The most important part is that this game likes you, and it wants you to enjoy your time with it. There are still story quests missing, but there are bells and whistles that make it feel very nice to interact with, despite it being in Early Access. It shows that the developer cares about your experience, and this, above all else, should make you want to play this game. There isn't much content yet, but what is there already is a very, very solid foundation.

It's a good game, and if you have a thing for supporting talented indie devs, then here's your chance. Give the guy some steak money. Anyone else get a craving for some steak? Man, all I can think about is meat.

Satisfactory is a game that appears to be a direct descendant of Factorio, in that the primary challenge and the main point of the game is to create factories and supply lines between them that would wring the planet out of its natural resources and turn them into technological products that you need to create more sophisticated factories, more efficient supply lines, and more cool gadgets for personal use. On that front, Satisfactory delivers while still being in deep Early Access, there's hundreds of hours of content.

What puts it apart from other similar games, by which I mostly mean Factorio, is that Satisfactory puts you in the first-person perspective in a very gorgeous and vertical world. There are so many hidden nooks and crannies to find while scaling monumental mountains with waterfalls falling into the mist below. The real joy of Satisfactory comes from its movement: by creating the gargantuan machine of your factory, you create an environment for yourself to traverse, and boy is it ever a joy to traverse it. Electric ziplines, exoskeletons, parachutes, and jetpacks are all valuable additions to your character, who gets to bullet jump like in Warframe and slide under conveyor belts. It is so far removed from the central point of the game, but the game would be so much worse off if it wasn't included. If you're reading this, you probably know all about the factory-building aspect, but there is a lot more to this game than conveyor belts and iron plates.
