Rubeus Hagrid (born December 6, 1928) is a fictional character from the Harry Potter series by Joanne Kathleen Rowling.

Hagrid is a gamekeeper and keeper of the keys at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, runs from the nursery of magics, leads from the care of magical powers, and enjoys the great trust of the school principal, Professor Dumbledore, a special place to be kept secret. Hagrid is bulky, with black eyes, twisted hair and a beard, and speaks with a distinctive accent. A characteristic feature is the fascination with animal breeding. Harry's first friend.
