Fantastic fun!

Disclaimer: I play singleplayer. My experience is based off this gameplay variation. If you prefer server play, your mileage may vary.


The game is BEAUTIFUL. If you can stand the occasional crash (don't forget to save from time to time!) its definitely worth the buy! This is Ark as I've always hoped it could be. The QOL tweaks, the AI pathing, the wild babies. The environment! I'm fresh into the game at this point and I absolutely love it. If you're an ARK fan. This is a must buy.

Do yourself a favor - play the demo, get addicted, buy the game. :D

The ONLY thing that would make this game better? 3-4 person Co-op.

As I stated in the feedback at the end of the demo: This game is fantastic! While I do wish the demo could have lasted longer (it's a blast, I want to keep playing!) it felt a lot longer than most game demos, which I very much appreciate. ^^ I'm incredibly anxious for the full release. Definitely one that's going on my wishlist for sure! :D

This game is beautiful and absolutely packed with potential. I'm learning more everytime I play. I've only played "single player" so far, but I imagine the fun would rise exponentially if one had a groupd of friends to play it with. :D

Is the game fun? You betcha!

Does it have issues? Of course!

Its unoptimized, is prone to crashing and random variety of bugs. At times laggy, poor performance, etc.
Though I will add, I myself have made NO upgrades to my machine recently but I have seen a DRAMATIC improvement in performance from ARK the past month or so. I am an avid fan of the Annunaki Genesis mod, among others, which is very large and when combined with other equally sized mods, spelled for a very VERY long load time, even into single player which took so long on average it was not uncommon to be timed out of servers due to it. However lately, it doesn't seem to matter how many mods I load, or how large said mods are. I'm in game within 5-7 minutes tops. I'm loving it~

In conjunction with this, I have virtually no lag anymore, and no FPS drops. Even during the game's periodic saving (which used to cause lag).

I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews of late. This game is great! So much so that I plan to purchase it on the Xbox One as well soon!

If you're not the type of person who can deal with bugs, performance issues, potential wipes, and other things that come with an Early Access game, then I'd advice waiting for final release. However if that's not a bother to you, then I really do urge you buy the game! Its beyond addicting! "Just 5 more minutes~" will become an hour before you know it.

Bought this about a week ago.
Played almost 14 hours straight when I got it.

At the moment, there's essentially nothing to do.

You just wander around screaming at other dinos. Eat, drink, try not get killed.

You break your leg. A lot. Like 50% of play time is gimping around like an invalid.
Find other dino friends. Protect dino friends. Sob like a baby when dino friend is killed.

10/10. Hands down my favorite game right now.
I'm extremely anxious for further development, but its so fun as is despite the limited content that I can't stop playing. :D
