FANTASTIC GAME!

I may be biased, but if you like panicking while everything goes wrong all at once, you'll like Skin Deep :)

The daytime community is toxic, but the hostage community at night is lovely! You see the same people every night; most are nice and not too sweaty. I've come back after years and still get recognized by those I used to play with :)

This game fails to follow common level design guidelines that are used by everyone for a reason. Most of the time I felt completely and utterly lost.

Lorn's Lure will present you with several pathways at once, so you pick the most likely one and follow, right? Except after a couple of minutes of platforming, you hit a dead end. Turns out you were supposed to choose the path on the ceiling that you didn't even know was there.

Surfaces that you thought were climbable tend to be used at an unnoticeable angle so you instead slide and bounce right off to your death. Platforms that lead nowhere will be marked with yellow striped paint. Jumps that you thought survivable will just kill you. Turns out you were supposed to run right off the edge, not jump. That 1 extra meter makes all the difference.

I stopped playing when the game expected me to run off a ledge, then slide down to some tiny platforms that are not visible unless you're midair and already falling to your death.

Amazing game with wonderful art, though it ends sort of abruptly. The soundtrack is super good too :)

Super fun and creative game! And the devs really listen to the community :)

EDIT! 235 hours later, and I still love this amazing game. There's truly nothing else like it.

Honestly some of the best bhopping and air strafing of all time :D

While it is nice that this on steam now, a lot of the changes were steps backward for absolutely no reason at all. As others have noted, most unique sound effects across all 13(?) games have been replaced with the same repetitive (and out of place) few sounds. The transitions in between chapters feels very jarring, especially between chapters 1 and 2. The loop's intro is gone, and the music has been changed for the worst.

So many iconic aspects of the series have been taken out and replaced. Bits of the atmosphere are still there but it's nowhere near what the games are known for. :/

I've loved this game since the beginning, and it's only gotten better :)

I had a lot of fun!!

It's definitely going for a lighter tone than the previous games (for some reason??). I ended up liking the gameplay and progression the most. The story... not as much, but I still enjoyed it. :)

Though just a warning, you won't get the correct difficulty achievement if you change it mid-playthrough. 10 minutes into the game I changed it to the second highest difficulty but did not get the achievement at the end.
