what an awesome little game, perfect for when i wanted to play something but also wanted to chill. definitely struggled with a few of the clues here and there, and after a while my eyes would get tired, but as a whole i enjoyed my time thoroughly. the art is adorable, and the sound effects are all vocals which is both insane and adds to this game's already great sense of humor. it's just a delight :)

not sure if they plan on adding more areas in the future since the last ones came out in 2020(?), and honestly i can't even imagine how long it takes to create these sprawling spaces, but regardless hidden folks is still worth a buy

hollow knight is one of the few games i feel confident giving a 10/10. can i give silksong an 11?

a sequel that improves on nearly everything its predecessor did, almost to an unbelievable degree. hornet's moveset is an absolute joy to master (and the multitude of tools and builds keep things fresh), the map is varied and feels never-ending for most of the game, and the bosses man, oh my god. there is so much to this game that it's genuinely overwhelming at times. though after having 100%'d it, i want to start a fresh save and experience it all over again.

team cherry, thank you for making two of my all-time favorite games. let's meet again on the road ahead.

while this game didn't resonate with me as much as i'd hoped, i still appreciated it a lot. really the only thing that i just could never enjoy was the gameplay. it's not bad necessarily, but it almost just feels like a means to get to everything else the game has to offer, rather than being something enjoyable in its own right. i don't really mind in this game's case though because everything else is really, really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good.

for one, C418 absolutely killed it on the soundtrack. i stopped what i was doing several times just to listen to the music. great mix of ambient stuff more adjacent to his iconic minecraft work, and lots of fun character themes with leitmotifs galore.

and the writing is such a delight from start to finish. i definitely prefer when the dialogue is leaning more towards being lighthearted and funny, but when it needs to get serious, it's handled wonderfully.

the visual style is also very solid. character designs are all distinct and adorable, the different plants you grow throughout are all super pretty, and i love the palette change with each season.

i honestly just wish i could've appreciated what it was trying to say more, but maybe i'll replay it in the future and find more to take away then. for now, i think it's a great 10ish hour experience that i'm glad i played, and you should definitely check it out if you're a fan of any of the people that worked on it. looking forward to what ivy road does next :)

i was already sold on this game from the kickstarter trailer, but this demo is genuinely one of the most promising things i've played in a long time. incredible art direction, great dialogue, vibey ost, and the level of polish on the gameplay is so much better than i could've expected. legit why hasn't anyone thought to do mouse & keyboard warioware until now, it's so fun

i missed so many things and still had an amazing time lol. funny, charming, surreal, stunning, expressive, it's got every adjective known to mankind. excited for the next chapters, truly a one-of-a-kind series. I AM THE BOSS!!!

whether it's the mind-bending puzzles that somehow only require one button, or the stunning world and creature designs, or even the gorgeous dynamic soundtrack that knows when you've solved a puzzle, there really is no game like cocoon

unfortunately i feel as though the cost of the game right now will dissuade most people from picking it up, which is understandable given how short it is (about 5 hours), but it's not always about the quantity of hours, rather the quality of them, and cocoon is as tightly-packed of an experience as it gets

highly recommend playing with controller. this game uses rumble incredibly well

great game, only complaint is no one ever says "erm, that just happened" or even "that cannon's aimed right at us, isn't it?"
