After sinking 119 hours into Way of the Hunter, it's clear this game offers something fundamentally different from its competition. While the genre often leans into an "arcade hunting" style, Way of the Hunter carves out a niche for itself as a patient, deeply satisfying, and highly realistic simulation. This is a game for those who appreciate the journey, not just the destination.

The first thing any player must adjust to is the pace. This is, unequivocally, a slower game. It requires patience, meticulous tracking, quiet movement, and an understanding of the environment and animal behavior. For some, this deliberate slowness might be a deterrent, but for dedicated players, it's the game's greatest strength. It transforms hunting from a simple seek-and-shoot activity into a meditative, engrossing experience where observation is as important as marksmanship. Every successful harvest feels earned after a long, quiet stalk.

Lots of fun, i could easily put 100+ hours into this game. It has a fairly steep learning curve, but once you get pass that it become loads of fun, you can start trying to get really high level animals and play online with friends doing challenges to see who gets bragging rights. A few things tho, some of the dlcs, like the atvs and the tents should just be a thing in the game, not extra money. but other than that you could play for hours. and if you ever get bored, just get a new map and hunt brand new animals. The lodges are a really cool feature that lets you show off your cool animals to your friends. All around this game is a great buy for 25$(cad). would recommend the extra version if you are gonna be interested, if not try out the cheaper version and buy the things you want.
