I've been waiting for six years and in all that time I knew it could be bad.

It could come out and be forgettable. It could just be a nice fidget toy with exceptionally pleasant eye candy. It could be an elaborate ploy to remake Simpsons Skateboarding with a Glass Marge. Still, my hunger to play it wouldn't die. My hopes and expectations could not be checked. I searched for news every few months that entire time. Delays? Who cares? I need it and it needs time. I didn't even play it on release because I'm a little Christmas Freak and I needed to be sure this game had my entire focus. So, acting as if it was Mister Eng and The Gang's gift to yours truly, I loaded it up on Boxing Day.

They did it. It was every single bit worth that wait and more. The atmosphere, the music, the flow, the vibes, the verbiage, the creaks. Everyone on this project put forth the kind of effort that makes you want to do better. Only game in years that I wrapped up and immediately started over again. And the entire time that I was basking in that certain special glow that only sets in on discovering a new all-time favorite? Full moon. Crisp, delicious, sugary full moon hung low above my sleeping city. I wasn't going to reach the Moon on foot. Thus, the skateboard.

I realize this review isn't saying much more than "Recommended", "I'm Overwhelmingly Positive", and "I remember lines from the game!" but Skate Story is just home cooked comfort food. It's hard to do more than gush.
