Update:
As of now, there are still bugs in the game, but normally one should not be able to trigger them unintentionally. Looks like some players have found a way to glitch through walls and teleport around map in speed run. Only glitch I've seen is the game somehow glitched my blade to the corner of the map when I tried to recall it. Kinda odd, but I couldn't figure out why. On the plus side, enemy characters have better detection for disturbances and movement under light.
I found myself coming back to this game rather than Gunpoint or Deadbolt from time to time, primarily because Ronin lets the player have complete control over their character, precise down to frames. Unlike Deadbolt, which relies more on reaction during combat, Ronin actually requires better strategic thinking.

Original post:
Ronin is a very fun game that is similar to Gunpoint or Deadbolt in certain aspects. The unique feature that set this game aside from others is that once an enemy spots you, the combat shifts to turn based mode instead of real time. This is where a lot of people complain about weird mechanics and unpredictable enemy fire, but after spending several hours on it, I've beaten every stage, new game+ mode included. In hindsight, there are multiple ways to kill most of the mobs, what seemed impossible at first becomes easy as one masters blade control and frame timing.

- Fans of Gunpoint/Deadbolt will likely find this game enjoyable
- Very solid game design
- Has a very high difficulty ceiling and therefore, some stages will be impossible to beat until one masters every aspect of the combat
- Has a few visibility bugs, ex. the scientist who looks out from behind a window will not be able to spot you if you climbed across on the ceiling before his eyes
- The story is pretty much non-existent. But who cares about a story when the game's so fun?

P.S.: Flying blade triple kill is a thing.
