The plot is a strange one - your colony has been attacked by a robot empire, and your brain has been put into a robot to fight in their arenas. The story mode follows your attempt to gain freedom and overthrow the Emperor.

The game has various weapons that can be upgraded to do more damage, as well as armour upgrades for your bot. Damage is done by impacts that disintegrate blocks of your robot. Destroying both legs, a weapon arm, the body or head kills your robot.

The arena has multiple tiers with increasing levels of challenge, which will provide hours of replay as you try to get to the highest tier (or get revenge on one level).

There are also challenge modes that limit you to one weapon, or require you to play with random upgrades. These are fun and interesting modes that add replayability.

Overall, I'd say it's a fun little game, and you should buy it.

This game is probably the best Terminator licensed game that's been made in years.

The story is not bad - you're a Resistance fighter trying to first link up with the main force, and then complete various missions for the war effort. You get side objectives from civilian friends and your commander as the game progresses.

Each area map is reasonably large with various buildings and locations to explore, reminiscent of the old Bethesda games, Future Shock and SkyNET. On several occasions you will revisit maps to complete new objectives, which seems repetitive.

The game is reasonably difficult, even on Easy. Upping the difficulty also ups the damage you take, which can get annoying - there's a scene in the prologue that requires you to run from a firing squad of T-800s, which on higher difficulties will need to be redone many times.

There's an XP and leveling system that allows you to increase your stealth, carry space and other attributes, with several areas having extra points in the form of skill books.

The weapons are reasonably powerful, although only plasma weapons and explosives can damage later enemies like Terminators. Plasma guns can be upgraded with chips that you get from destroyed enemies, though that requires matching the patterns on the ends of the chips.

There is a crafting mechanic that allows you to make extra equipment like ammunition and secondary weapons like grenades. This can be expanded in your skills, but is usually unnecessary, as the trading points usually have what you need.

There are both lockpicking and hacking minigames that usually lead to some goodies like trade resources and ammunition. Lockpicking is similar to Fallout, while hacking is a Frogger-style minigame. Quite enjoyable.

The recent update includes a new game mode where you play an Infiltrator trying to attack a Tech-Com bunker. It's quite a fun little mini mission, with some replayability.

Overall, I'd say it's worth a look if you're a Terminator fan.

+Multiple ways to play and multiple endings
-Repetitive after the first couple of plays
+Mods add new stories and challenges
-Some mods are a bugger to get working right.

If you like Fallout and moddable games, you'll like it. If not... not so much.

I played this game back in the days of Windows 95/98. I'm glad to see a modern computer-compatible version on Steam.

The game puts you as a Terran administrator for a mining company, in a space called the Fragmented Sectors. You have set up mining colonies on asteroids, and defend them from (or maintain peaceful realtions with) various alien races, who range from peaceful unless provoked to genocidally racist.

You can purchase various blueprints to build new gun turrets, power supplies and mines, as well as new ships to add to your defense fleets.

In addition to defenses and attack fleets, your asteroids can also fire ballistic missiles, from simple explosives to asteroid annihilating fusion bombs.

This caught my eye back in the day, as the game was different to most of the C&C derivatives of the time.

If you like a challenge, buy this, and play a custom game with all races and a hostile atmosphere. Guaranteed to be fun!*

*Not a legal guarantee. More likely you'll get your arse handed to you.
