Marni Manko had perfect breasts. “It made perfect sense to me,” Manko insists, curled up on the couch of her suburban Philadelphia home. Under her black sweater, her breasts are now silicone. Over the years, she has seen three family members, including her mother, diagnosed with breast cancer before they turned 45. “I wasn’t gonna just sit around and wait for cancer to get me,” she says. “The whole experience was empowering.”
