Story is extremely well written. Art is amazing and consistent in style. Music is great and fits the mood of each scene and really helps to convey the mood. Lots of work went into little details and subtle effects in each scene that are really appreciated.

Only downside is a couple of the side characters seem a little one-note to me. Especially when they show up in multiple storylines on a second or third playthrough (which is required if you want to see all the romance options). There's a great 'skip' feature that will plow through dialogue very quickly if you've been in a conversation before, which is much appreciated and helps alleviate that somewhat. That's very much a personal preference thing though, so I can't knock them for it at all.

Clearly a labour of love by a group of very talented individuals. I'm looking forward to anything that comes from them in the future.

Highly recommended.

The amount of content in this game with Immortal Empires is just astounding. I have been playing since the first one, and this is already the best version. I am looking forward to many more hours in the future.

The implementation of the store they added to the game weeks after launch (to avoid those nasty reviews no doubt) is a slap in the face to everyone that paid for this game. It's being monetized like a free-to-play game, while still costing full premium game prices. Shameful.

You can spend three weeks building a base and then have it decay and be removed, in it's entirety, after a few days of being off the server. Only worth it if you're going to be on 24/7. Sucks for regular people.

Really hard if you try to rush through it. If you take the time to explore and fight enemies instead of running away all the time ealy on you can pretty quickly unlock nodes in the skill tree to make fighting easier. The map-randomization is really cool: the overall layout of the map is fixed (so exploring is rewarding), but inside each sector the rooms re-arragne after each death to keep things fresh. You often unlock shortcuts so getting to places you've been before without a teleporter isn't an issue (I was worried it would be).
The enemies get a little repetative since you mostly fight different versions of the same 7 or so enemies in each section, but the bosses are really unique and fun to fight without being annoying.

Loved the old Magic: The Gathering games - but this one is far too grindy and cheap with it's currency when trying to unlock new decks. The mini-campaigns are fun and a good way to introduce the various card sets, but it'd be nice if you had some reason to play through more than once. Once you complete the campaigns the only way to unlock currency to spend on new cards is to play MP or grind through tons of annoying SP battles (for a max of 15 coins per battle, needing 150 to unlock a single booster). This wouldn't be so bad, except the game itself is plays really slow - making you wait for lots of repetetive animations and forcing each match to be a lot longer than they need to be. It also resorts to annoying 'rate us' and 'go check out X in the store' ingame ads frequently.
