really underwhelming, not worthy at all

the only character i felt something while playing was Glorio, his attacks are fun and somewhat well animated, but everything else is just bad, the animations are so bad for the other characters, they dont have any kick to it, no emotion

Also, the characters are not dubbed only japanese voices for some reason?

i regret buying the ultimate edition of the game EVERY DAY since i first played it, how i wish i could refund it...

man...this game SUCKS
i got into this game franchise on Naruto ultimate ninja 2, after that i played every ultimate ninja. When Storm came out i didn't have a console to play it, and so i skipped it...same happened to storm 2. but then storm 3 full burst came out and i got it on pc i was stoked, and the game was great.... had the absolute insane quick time event boss battles and hype battles... then i played 4 and generations.... now after a WHILE i decided to get all achievements from the storm series on steam and let me tell me my experience with this game in particular:

ITS SO BORING!
the mission system would be great if it had more to do, there is like 5 things max to do in the entire story, the same mini games over and over get old REALLY fast.
the worst is that i cant just do the story missions...i need to do the "side" content, because of the required "mission xp" that they give, and story missions need a certain amount of "mission xp" to be unlocked. Seriously, who thought that this was a good idea? this makes everything be such a chore!

the battles are great, aside from the absurdly small substitution windows, but that is a ultimate ninja thing that they phased out on future games, so i can live with it.

the animations on the ultimate jutsus are just awesome! i think some of them came straight out of ultimate ninja 5, but thats not a bad thing at all, they are great and fluid af.

the soundtrack and the sound effects are mid at best, some songs are better than others, but they get old real quick... hearing Naruto say "here we go" EVERY SINGLE TIME he runs will annoy tf out of you soon enough.

the menus are simple, as they should be, they are easy to understand (even the mess that is the mission "debriefing") and easy to get around. no complains.

all in all i give this game a 5/10, it has a LOT of problems, and really, this game could be used to torture someone fr,
but i had fun, and for sure, playing with a friend can be even better...as all things are.


(also, i had a glitch with the resolution of the game, after alt+tabbing the resolution was straight up gone.... both my monitors stopped recognising the pc's signal....i had to close the game and turn HDR off and turn off and on both my monitors to fix it...thank god i know the shortcut of all of that, because i had A LOT of unsaved work on the background..........and i also lost like 2 hours of progress in-game 😓 )

they fixed a lot of problems but not the major ones...there is no single player content aside from the lackluster story mode, the price still is predatory, the dlcs content is so basic it hurts, i expected a lot and got almost nothing, if you want a bt4, go play the modded ps2 version, this is not it.

I tried to like this game, i did, i got it from someone as a gift and this game looks amazing, the art is fresh and different and that's about it...

The game tries a lot but fail in almost every single aspect:

The combat is boring, enemies do contact damage, and if you ever played a 2D game you know how annoying and cheap this is. Most enemies can be stun locked by your basic attacks, and ranged enemies projectiles can be reflected but does chip damage back so it's just not satisfying. The boss battles are just boring, the bosses have super armor and do not react to you at all, they have 3 to 5 attacks and just rotate between them very predictably.

The songs and sounds are very basic, i just played the game for almost 4 hours and closed it now to write this and i can't remember them for the life of me, not memorable at all.

The controls are ok, very responsive, as expected of a 2D game, i've played it on a 360 controller and its just ok, on K&M tho? you have to remap it to WASD if you have any self respect, the game itself advises you to use a controller because playing on K&M is just straight up bad.
You have unlocks to upgrade your movement but nothing groundbreaker, its more of the same from every metroidvania you've seen a thousand times, double jump, dash, etc.

It has a skill tree and levels, but the game did NOT need any of it, to be honest, removing the skill tree and levels just doesn't change anything about the game...the skills are not worth it as most are just "+2% attack", "3% crit chance" if even that much. very basic and most you wont even feel in combat...the "weapon skills" are the worst by far, instead of just having these unlocked from the beginning, you only have the basic attack...that's it...want more? a combo? (no combos at all, not even in the skill tree), hitting below or above you? the VERY BASIC of metroidvania? go grind a little to unlock a skill and forget about combos or actual special skills.

The game has armour and magic, the magic is so bad i wont even comment on it...the armour tho? SO MUCH detail for the armour portrait on the menu, but NO ARMOUR CHANGE IN-CHARACTER WHATSOEVER! this is atrocious.

but now for the main problem and why i stopped playing and came here to write:
THE MAP.
This game's map is the worst thing to ever happen to a metroidvania, you don't ever know where are you going, for what purpose and if you even are going to reach something!
THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I WALKED FOR MINUTES TO BE MET BY A LOCKED DOOR IS JUST ASTOUNDING FOR 4 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY OMG!
i have 14 quests on my quest log and i have NO IDEA what im supposed to do in ANY of them! no markers, no descriptions, no bosses, just locked doors and corridors leading to NOTHING!!
I've found npcs on the world asking for items and none of them give me at least a tip to where to find the item, the only quest i've completed so far was from a humanoid cat that needed me to kill a boss immediately behind him, and that's IT, i walked and walked and jumped more than i ever jumped in a game ever in my life, but i have no idea where i was or why i was even going. most quest npcs just repeat one really unhelpful line, or just vanish into the ether, the quest log does not help at all and the map is the worst thing to ever happen to a metroidvania.

before a vein in my brain explodes im gonna end this review, idk how people are giving this game positive reviews, but to each their own i guess.

thanks for the gift by the way, i really tried to like it, i love metroidvanias but that one is just not for me, if it had a better map i could tolerate everything else, but alas, go play Timespinner, its way better than Afterimage in every single way, and also, cheaper.

one of the best, Terraria stands tall on my second favorite game of all time.

people say it's a 2D Minecraft, well they are wrong, i mean...you mine and craft....but the game is not centered around that idea, is more like a side scrolling survival that you get (eventually) unstopable if you play it right.

Sound: 9/10
The music is great, the sfx is good but after a while it gets repetitive
gameplay 7/10
there is only one thing holding this game back...and it's the fact that if you touch a enemy you take damage, it makes sense for some enemies (like slimes and the man eater plants in the jungle) but it gets REALLY annoying really fast, if you played castlevania sotn you understand what i'm talking about.
Mechanics: 5/10
it's a 2D side scrolling game, there is a lot of things you can do about it....but terraria sticks with a grappling hook, wings, jumping and mounts....it's ok i guess.
Fun: 9/10
if you played Minecraft you know the feel, create your own world, the power to change everything at your fingertips, becoming powerful through any means necessary to beat a powerful enemy (or enemies in terraria), crank this to eleven, there is lots of equipment you can farm and after you are done with this game you'll just want more, and there is the modding comunity that makes the game stay fresh even for veterans!

Final Note: 7.8
The game is fun, in my opinion it's one of the best. but there is no thing as a perfect game....and there is modding to fix this! buy it! play it! you will not regreat a thing.
