A brotato does as a brotato must do. Minimalistic style meets roguelike shooter type of game; between each level you purchase upgrades and continue to destroy a variety of enemies.

It's a simpler game that keeps my brain occupied for hours (134 of them as of this review).

An innovative puzzle game that takes a lot more skill than it first seems. Simple sudoku puzzles with action elements and the inability to see the grid requires a lot of memory. I love it.

Steam really shouldn't incentivize reviews like this, because it results in me writing a half-assed review of a game that while the sentiment might be true, I don't put half the effort into it that I would have, were I not prompted.

i enjoy Death Stranding. It's relaxing, fun, and pretty. Yay.

It's a pretty fighting game, but, so far with the relatively short amount of playtime I've put into it, the systems in place aren't feeling great. It feels a bit disjointed and in the story mode you can't even do fatalities against the enemies.

When I started trying some of the other modes, I could ATTEMPT fatalities, but, for one reason or another they never seem to work unless I'm doing the fatality training mode.

The fatalities are stunning. They're definitely the star of the game, but, I do sort of wish that the fighting aspect of the game felt as natural or intuitive as some of the other games. As is, it's a great game and if you like Mortal Kombat, well worth it. I just don't feel like it's a technical fighting game at all at this point.

The story mode is pretty awesome though and is well worth getting and playing just for the story that gets told while you're playing.

This is an absolutely adorable little game. The gameplay so far has been simple, but, it's cute, engaging and has great story to go along with it.

It's definitely a story driven experience, but, well worth the $8 asking price.

This game is addictive.

It's relatively simple, and it distills some of the logistics based games (like Factorio) to a fairly pure experience.

There's no skill trees or anything yet, just a progression of levels that unlocks the various buildings and structures until you get to level 19 and it asks you to build random shapes.

I've played for 76 hours in a game that seemingly has very little depth just dinking around with factories and arrangements of belts and buildings.

If you enjoy the logistics in games like Factorio or Mindustry you will probably enjoy this a bit.

It's not all good things though, you can't be completely careless with your building as the game does get a bit laggy if there's too many things.

To finish on a positive note, the game is completely open source. It's available at github dot com slash tobspr slash shapez.io

You can install and build the game from source completely free if you want, but, for me, getting 76 hours out of a $4 game speaks for itself and it's well worth the money. The price will increase after the 'wires' update that is planned. However, even then it'll only be 5.99 (I think) so, still WELL worth it.

Unlike previous Torchlight games, this one is online only.

Due to somewhat unstable internet connection, I'm unable to play the game despite only attempting to play single player. The game requires an always on internet connection to play and if your internet connection hiccups, cuts out in any fashion, your game play will be interrupted and you will be kicked from your game.

I can not recommend this game due to this. It would make much more sense if I was attempting to play with, or even cared about other players.

The game store page says it's single-player, and I do not expect a single-player game to falter when I'm disconnected from the internet.

Original review still left in tact, so people can understand context and I have no wish to hide controversial things I've said. Although, I do still hope people understand that this is my opinion on things and I'm free to feel any way I like about whatever I like for whatever reasons I like and I am not beholden to you nor your understanding of why.

-NoMultiplayer switch added. This fixes all concerns below and the devs implemented this in less than 3 days from it being noticed as an issue. This switch prevents you from playing multiplayer, but, it also prevents any of the contact to Epic's servers. This is a win in my opinion.

While I have very little to say about the game play, the fact that this is implemented, and it solves what made me uncomfortable, makes me happy to recommend the game and encourage people to spend their money.

<3. I am happy with this and hope whatever way YOU feel about this, that the information in this review helps inform your choice.

Everything below is left only for context and so people can see how my recommendation changed.

Cleaning up and rewriting yesterday's edits, but, I will leave the original review until there's either not an issue for me, or I've given up on the game. Additional notes after the original review. I still don't recommend the game at current.

Update: The devs have been communicating and there's the possibility of a solution; not a promise. At this point. I think I'm happy with that. Being responsive and willing to work towards something is better than a kick in the nuts and they appear to understand that a lot of people are uncomfortable about this. If the solution does get made and comes out, I do think it would either mean cause to delete this review, or switch it to a recommend just because the developers are responsive and working to make things better.

I do not recommend purchasing this game on Steam if your primary reason for purchasing it on Steam was to avoid Epic.

Epic Online Services is integrated with the game and means you can't avoid Epic with the game. I'm very torn. I want to support the game for finally being available on Steam, but, I do NOT want to support Epic at all. I'm currently trying to decide whether to request a refund or not due to it requiring integration with Epic.

This is a significant failing as it does not warn that it requires connecting to Epic's Online Services before purchase and you can not play without linking your steam account to Epic's servers. This is disappointing to me.

This review ended up super popular. It was written for people I knew, and I just had no qualms before now about leaving a review as public. If you think this information is useful, thank you for saying my review is helpful. If you disagree, or do not like it, say it's not helpful, write your own positive review and boost the game for it's developers!

The game does link your SteamID to Epic through Epic Online Services and is explained in a FAQ on the Steam Satisfactory Discussion Forums. I've included the link, but, steam appears to auto-remove it.

A nice user on the forums has lead me to a solution that allows me to play, but, requires me to log out of Steam and run it in offline mode for ALL of my games. This is very inconvenient, but, it does allow me to ACTUALLY play the game without the thing triggering my discomfort happening.

A lot of people have a lot of opinions about this. It's nice for people to want to logic about someone else's dislike, discomfort, or what triggers their unhappiness, but, it's super unreasonable. I can be okay with one thing, and not okay with another, and it is not required to make sense to anyone else except for me. It's why it's an opinion. I'll reiterate what I said above. If this helps you make a decision, great! If not, hopefully another review will!

I have nothing against the developers, their pursuit of money, or any of their other decisions. I may have disliked the exclusivity period, but, I still chose to spend money on release day on Steam. People are accusing me of a lot of things, and ultimately, I'm still a fan. The community of people is hurting this game more than I could. If you're a fan of the game, help people, help them enjoy the game and love it as much as you do. Stop pooping on them.

It's nearly unplayable after the first reset. Up until that point, it's a decent and somewhat interesting clicker with a variety of builds to get through the first shard, but, the complete reset along with a buff to enemies and you can't even iterate through the lower shards to build back up makes it not worth the time.

I'm not thrilled by it. Was semi-excited cause I'm on a pokemon kick, but, not excited enough to do research on things that aren't amazingly obvious. I expected it to be straight forward and to be able to capture new TemTem right away, but, only seemed to encounter other trainers, there didn't appear to be wild ones to capture and I lost interest at that point.

Ultimately it was a a waste of my investment. I'm hesitant to spend more time, at 38 minutes it's still possible to get a refund. Spending much more time would put that at jeopardy.
