I went into SOMA cautiously after having played Amnesia and seen its horrors. I expected something grotesque, invasive, immersive, disturbing, and fearsome. I got all of these things out of SOMA. I didn't expect to weep because of my choices; to reconsider what I had done based on new information. I certainly didn't expect to put myself in the place of Simon time and time again only to realize at the end that I never truly put myself in his shoes. Simon was a good person. I thought I was a good person. I now doubt both of these things. And I don't think I will think the same way about the human mind again.
