Since this review is made in 2021, the multiplayer is completely dead and the story is complete garbage. But the zombies, on pc, with all the mods... Makes the game a masterpiece within the series. Buy this game for the zombies and just forget everything else.

Few things in life (well, in gaming more specifically) are as enjoying as killing German Nazis or zombies. So, in WOB, you get to brutalize the fusion of those two evils. Solid shooting mechanics, good stealth and cover elements, responsive controls, various ways to tackle each mission, lots of weapons to use and areas to explore. Great visuals, voice and story. Try it on higher difficulty settings for a more robust and satisfying experience. A top performer overall, excellent follow-on to the New Order, only bad (so to speak) thing is, it is fairly short (dont forget its essentially a dlc) and leaves you wanting more. absolutely worth it.

The story and the overall mood felt quite disjointed and inconsistent in this one. It's like they wanted to go with emotional melodrama at first with BJ's constant ♥♥♥♥♥ing and complaining, the depressing childhood abuse scenes etc. but then at some point they changed their minds and went full crazy with some utterly absurd but hilarious levels and set pieces.

I thought the crazy bits were genuniely creative and well done, but the "serious" bits were very superficial, boring and drawn out. The characters, although plentiful, were one-dimensional and I didn't really care about any of them.

The game itself is a lot of fun. Visually it looks great and runs very well, the controls feel good and the shooting is satisfying. Given the crazy unrealistic setting the enemies could have been a bit more diverse, particularly in terms of strategy, but they're still quite fun. The stealth mechanic is very questionable but luckily not forced.

7/10 for the story (5/10 for the "serious" parts and 9/10 for the crazy parts)
9/10 for presentation
8/10 for gameplay

I was expecting Wolfenstein: The New Order to be just another generic shooter using a classic series to drive interest but I was pleasantly surprised to find the game to be a fun and engrossing FPS with a fantastic story and great gunplay mechanics.

The game takes place in 1946 after the Nazi's won WWII and you play agent William 'BJ' Blazkowicz in a Allied force team taking on General Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse and his high-tech weapon and human experiment lab. The story goes much deeper as the game progresses with lots of detail and narrative development but I won't expand at the risk of spoiling such a captivating plot.

The presentation is slick and the locations are very nicely designed. It captures the classic feel of the Wolfenstein games and brings itself into the modern gaming era with a polished engine and atmospheric missions. The guns are huge fun to use and the combat is fast paced and fluid.

However the game is guilty in some respects of falling victim to the typical modern day shooters we see today. There are too many scripted sequences and forced gameplay scenarios which mimic that of the campaigns of Call of Duty and Battlefield. The cutscenes are plentiful too although these are intriguing rather than sometimes annoying like the frequent 'push-button to activate scripted events'.

The game isn't massive - I estimate perhaps 10+ hours although there is plenty of replay value here. There is no multiplayer either but Wolfenstein The New Order is a smart and brilliant game in its own right.

Unfamiliar fans of the series may want to hold back and wait until the price drops but if you are a fan of Wolfenstein and/or love FPS games; this is definitely worth a look today.

I actually own the game. I can't say this for people giving it a 0/10 because Ther's no possible way it deserves that. Must be people who rage quit and left a rager review because they decided having to actually play a game, is asking too much.
If you really like Souls games for their atmosphere, and their lack of hand holding, Elden Ring is a must play for you.

Story 7/10 - It's basically the same concept as the other souls games, but the formula obviously works in this type of game.
Gameplay 9/10 - The vast amount of enemies and weapons, spells, is just insane. There are hundreds, if not thousands of possible playstyles dependings on what you have equipped.

Graphics 8/10 - Not the best, but its still a gorgeous looking game with great design.

Evironment 10/10 - They really know how to build beautiful looking places, from snowy mountains, to rotting depths, to blood soaked ruins of a forgotten underground palace.
Dont even get me started on Norkon.

Optimization 8/10 - apparently people dont know that you can entirely fix the stuttering issues in the Nvidia control panel and one click in windows settings.
I guess it's easier to cry and moan about something than to actually find the fix for it and implement it yourself. I would like to see the 60 fps cap removed for people who want that option. I guess make it so you're offline without risking a ban? something official wouldbe nice.

Overall 8/10.

It's a very good game that definitely doesnt deserve the low scores it's getting from accounts, who somehow only have 2 reviews on their profile, this and forbidden west. fishy.
Most of them also left a 0 score on every platform Elden Ring is on. Definitely something weird going on there, as I doubt those people have played this game on 5 different platforms.

Great work from FromSoft. Keep doing what youre doing and dont ever change to appease the baby crowd.

In the character creation you've already got some important choices to make that will influence your playstyle for the rest of the game. You want to join the Holy Nation? well, too bad they don't like you because you've created a female Shek with the Holy Sword background and they will attack you on sight.

This also shows one of the core elements of the game: constant learning and improving through making mistakes and failing. Kenshi literally is "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" - the game. your whole party got wiped out in a fight, is heavily wounded or some of you even lost a limb? congratulations, your toughness just went up! overburdoned your inventory, which massively slows down your movement speed and reduces your chances of escaping raiders. bandits or slavers? congratulations, you're leveling up strength right now!

Kenshi is a sandbox survival game in a massively sized open world. you can play it however you want, you can actively seek out fights you'll lose to level up your toughness, you can play it safe and mine copper and ore near a city, buy a house inside a city and do some research, build your own settlement in the midst of nowhere and risk attracting some unwanted attention or you can join one of the factions like the aforementioned Holy Nation and fight for their cause.

If Kenshi isn't edgy enough for you as it is there are also mods that allow you to play as a slaver or cannibal. this game is literally one of the most sandboxy games to be released since the outstanding Daggerfall and you'll not only see your character's stats rising constantly, but also the number of hours you've played it. sandbox roleplaying hasn't been that much fun in quite some time.

I like games which are interactive novels or movies. L.A. Noire neatly meets this criteria and brilliantly recreates a colourful period of L.A.'s history. I have never seen a game populated by believable characters who inspire compassion in the player. Nor have I seen real faces with real emotions, from the slight twitch of nervousness to red-faced, bulging eyes of fear.

I didn't pay this game for its challenges or playablity. I want to be immersed in a world and interact with the environment. I want a riveting story that rings true.

L.A. Noire delivers this and then some. I loved every second of this hard-boiled slice of life. In later years this game will definitely be looked back on as one of the most ground-breaking games of all time. It is the first game that I felt emotionally involved. And it was a riveting experience.
