becomes progressively more tedious as you exhaust the fun and interesting parts of the game and eventually get stuck on there being nothing to do but try and fail to return the mock disc to the shrine to get one of the flames. very strong start that fizzles out by progression gating via a chase that is incredibly antithetical to what makes the game so charming.

I do not know how I became so intensely imprinted on rain world but there is a huge slugcat shaped hole in my brain now

i purchased sluggame mid may i think not sure if i would actually like it very much other than the dilapidation and crushing nature of the experience sounded exactly made for me. turns out the gameplay cycle (lol) has its paws tightly gripped around my neck and is leaving two huge bruises and the scenery and creatures are so tragically beautiful they have inscribed their image on my soul

i especially love the places that are rather uncomfortable to be in and give the sensation that you -really- ought not be there because you are a razors edge away from death. (subregion)initials: fs, ss, 5p, uh, ... they really get under my skin in a way that is really nice~

recently my beloved fat orange cat butterscotch died, taken by a bobcat, and in celebration of his life i loaded up my gourmand save, recolored orange, and [] .. which caused me to finally process what had happened and i cried a bunch of my boyfriends shoulder.

prey-predator dynamics is something rw excels at, the large scale ecosystem simulation being a large part of the games gimmick and all, which is really cool in practice. 'enemy' was never a word which crossed my mind while playing, rather 'threatening' and 'nonthreatening', which in practice end up being rather dynamic qualities during gameplay.

and the scale of the lore hits like being pancaked by a drunk dumptruck driver. its huge. far bigger than you. between the environmental storytelling, dialogue, and hidden bits dripfeeding you over the course of your scuggy little existence. left eternally wistful. and some of the endings. woah. incredibly intense

this is what a videogame is. you do wolf ♥♥♥♥ like chase elk and pee everywhere. an mf'in eagle stole my pup. this is what it's all about.

it might be good, i like the atmosphere and puzzles, it feels a lot like a yume nikki fangame but halfway through the author completely forgot what they are doing.
i blind bought this and had not realized the extent to which this is one of those decisions-matter games and how much it leans into it (the name went over my head), i find this too paralyzing to continue, i hate the emotional manipulation involved and now im spiraling into fantasizing about having a lobotomy again.
