Wow, really great of Mossmouth to help bring these more obscure game consoles to life with a retro collection like this. You may have thought the Turbografx/PC Engine or the Sega Master System weren't well known in the US, but that's nothing compared to the LX! I suspect the emulation isn't quite machine-perfect as there's much less sprite flickering and slowdown than I remember from when I was a kid. Still, you can't beat the value per game and it's really something to be puzzled by Mooncat or try to figure out Avianos again. Solid buy!

Yes, I know. Kayfabe!

Game that just misses being excellent; the minigames as a way to make it more than a 'walking simulator' are great but there's just a little too much packed in there, plus the epilogue is another hour of gameplay after the game has effectively ended. Still very much worth a play; there is grotesque stuff ahead, but be assured it'll end on the upbeat.

Early Access Review
Adding to the chorus of people who do not want Easy Anti Cheat added; I'd rather they embrace mods and authorize the good ones. There's other VR virtual worlds out there, and I hope this is VRC's Tumblr moment.

I liked this well enough - I've seen comparisons with Chinese Parents but, folks, life sim games have been around for awhile, From Princess Maker and Alter Ego on. It has a number of rough spots - there's not a ton of replay value despite there being several options since the nature of parental demands and the needs of passing exams between major life stages mean you're going to want to chase after as many skills as possible in any case. I also feel like there's some half-hearted attempts at inclusion that immediately goes off the rails except perhaps if you use a guide. (For example, same-sex romance *is* in the game, but if you don't answer your interest perfectly - and happen to get one of the NPCs of that preference randomly - it seems like you'll default to a standard straight relationship at the end no matter what.)

On the other hand, graphically it looks lovely, the gameplay is fun enough even if I find the 'let's add match three puzzles!' trend in unrelated genres a bit baffling, and what it does right it does very right. If we see some post-release polish I wholeheartedly recommend it; in the state it is now, it's worth checking out if you enjoy life sims.

I love the board game, but this should be a relatively light app. Instead, it causes my gaming laptop's fan to whir like a jet engine taking off, you can't change resolution or go into windowed mode, just a very sloppy mobile port all in all.

The mod is a decent addition of content. Yes, some are complaining about bugs (not really unusual, just look at the bugs at Rebirth and Afterbirth release, BoI is a complex game) and others find AB+ underwhelming compared to the fan-mod Antibirth, but where Antibirth feels more like something tuned for Isaac experts In my experience AB+ has felt, well, like the name: Afterbirth with more stuff. Antibirth is great and it is free, but I don't feel this is an unworthy addon.

If you're familiar with the old never-completed English beta, this is an official release of a later Windows-compatible remake. It has somewhat improved art and music that is... well, it's not actually WORSE than the original. The game itself, however, is as wonderful as ever and is a great life simulation. There are some possibly-creepy bits - given one can marry your adopted daughter or have her take over as the new Lord of Hell - but these are the bad endings that ought to be avoided unless you are a completionist; otherwise, well, how would you know you were a good parent without the possibility to mess up?

The translation isn't quite as refined as the old beta and has several typos, but is generally easier to understand what is going on.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Roguelike, but with the twist of relentless time pressure as opposed to exploring a singular dungeon.
