I'm glad to say I was wrong about Sony backtracking, so here I am to update my review.


Helldivers 2 is some of the most fun I've had in a Co-op PVE game in a long time. Conceptually, the gameplay is very much like (and as fun as) Deep Rock Galactic, with the addition of calling in orbital and air support. Watching the terrain (and occasionally your friends) in front of you turn into a cloud of dust as you and your friends call in artillery strike is incredibly fun, and will keep me coming back for a long time.

I have no intention of creating a playstation account, and Sony/Arrowhead performed a bait and switch by enforcing it after the fact, long after return windows are over and after tons of people bought the game with the knowledge that a PSN account was optional.

If they decide to backtrack, I'll update this review, but asking Sony changing their mind in a way that will make people like them is about as likely as Bloodborne on PC. So I'll see you in a few centuries.

This is an incredible game. Buy it! (With the season pass for the DLC. It's totally worth it!)
