How difficult was it for me to make the decision to invest myself into this game? Very.

The game has a lot of baggage over its terrible launch. I read through all the comments in the several days since Bloodtrail came out, watched multiple videos and read multiple topics on reddit to gather as much information as I can to ascertain if this game is ♥♥♥♥ or the ♥♥♥♥.

Finally, I decided to take a shot based on all the information I got, DESPITE the negative reviews/comments and BECAUSE even though some people do not recommend the game, they would point out in their reviews that the game has redeeming qualities. Also, I'd like you to consider that the price of this game is almost the same as Last Epoch's - the other up and coming ARPG that is garnering a lot of attention. I considered playing Wolcen, and if it was as bad as everyone described it, to refund it and buy LE.

I wouldn't want to bore you with all the second-hand knowledge I got. I'll tell you only what I experienced as I launched the game and played through the first Chapter.

Close to 8 hours in I've been only playing in a Private Game, Online. For the duration of the game so far I've had it crash once while I was in town and got disconnected once when I was fighting a horde of enemies. The other 7 hours I've had no problem. If you are not OK with this and you want a pristine product. I would suggest that you don't buy this game. I can cope with it and I hope the developers will NMS this game.

I opted in for the Melee (Barbarian-like) specialization and I will tell you that for the first couple of levels the gameplay will feel clunky and unsatisfying. As I managed to fill up my slots with abilities, now that I'm level 25, the gameplay feels much better for me. The ability rotation is satisfactory, the boss engagements are challenging.

The story is well developed. This is something that's important to me as a gamer.

The hunts are interesting, but I find them to be inconsequential so early in the game. I believe they will become more exciting when actual good loot starts dropping from them.

I haven't read any builds, so I just figure out my way through the game building toughness, ferocity and crit. It might be a bad build, it might not be, I don't know. I can reset everything, anytime I like and select appropriately if I get to that point.

I am at a point now that I feel pretty good about the game. I can't know how it will be in the end game but so far my experience is overall positive.

Edit: About the game performance. I am running the game smoothly on Medium with VSYNC on 40-50 fps with my GTX 760; i5-4400. Put the game on your SSD if you have one it improves loading times by a lot.

This game is great fun to play with friends. I enjoy it very much.

This game is addictive as hell. I am at work today and I can't stop thinking about it.... since yesterday.
