Core Keeper is a very cozy game with it's aesthetically pleasing visuals, immersive soundtrack, and an overall solid sense of progression.

It's not necessarily innovative, but it does take bits and pieces from other games in similar genres as inspiration, like Terraria, Valheim, Stardew Valley, and gives their own take on that particular system. The skill trees are interesting and meshes well together, and leveling skills early on is solid pacing, but as you get to higher and higher levels for completions sake, it gets tedious to gain meaningful experience.

Overall, this game holds its own compared to others and is a great experience.

Edit: As of 12AM EST May 6th, 2024, PlayStation tweeted that the update that would have required PSN account linking will not be moving forward. Glad to see this not actually be doubled down and kill my personal GOTY.

No, I will not be making a PSN account to continue playing. The history of data breaches is enough to warrant that.

Enjoy this game so much that I'm already planning how I want to do later playthroughs while having a blast on my current one.

This would be the perfect 3D Sonic game if I'm able to replay the bosses.

Even at $4.99, this game is an absolute steal!

Team Cherry has made an absolute masterpiece of a game! The combat and movement is fluid and very responsive, making the game have a great show of skill expression. Nothing that I've fought has felt unfair or had BS attacks.

Eagerly awaiting Silksong to be released!
