Funny, I was speaking to someone today that also recommended Stellaris (and Alpha Centauri). I haven't tried either yet.

Yeah that's pretty useful. The ones that you can't pause are not so good either (all multiplayer games, and survival games that don't pause in the inventory screen).

V hehe i can understand something similar about games that have a instintanious save feature like saving the very last micro second you were in a game.. its nice when your in a house of 5 year olds who love power plugs.... and pain.......... totaly not pain from me after they pull the plug on my pc O_O

WAT
12 Jan, 2017 @ 7:29pm
I'll have to check it out. A few people mentioned some problems with the game that put me off but good to know it can be modded. What level access do the modders have? Can they just make new races and maps or can they fix the UI and really dive into the code?

I started playing AoE2HD in the meantime as it was already in my library anyway but the controls and UI are hideous and there's no option to change the resolution or to zoom out (which is bizarre for a 'HD' game).

Thanks! You're not bad yourself. Good to see you like Warband. I uninstalled Rise of Nations though because it was too addictive, but I'm happy to give you some tips..

15 Feb, 2016 @ 5:38am

Nearly abandoned. There is only one guy working at it. He released mod support so the community is doing some work now
13 Feb, 2016 @ 10:01pm
Yeah I played Gnomoria a while back. It was a copy of Dwarf Fortress but with updated graphics, though I thought it was abandoned in alpha??
12 Feb, 2016 @ 3:28pm
If you want to play a game like old Settlers, try Gnomoria! It's a very balanced experience :) Oh, by the way i added you to play Rise of Nation against AI

The solution was Gathering > Farming. When focusing on Gathering the game was too easy. Oh well.
14 Mar, 2014 @ 4:10pm
I thought this game would be more relaxing / interesting like The Settlers 1/2 but without fighting.
I loved those games - watching the farmer grow and harvest the wheat, the labourer take the wheat to the windmill, the windmill grind it into flour, the flour is taken to the bakery, the baker make bread, the bread is taken to the mine, the miner eats it and mines some coal, the other miner mines some iron, iron and coal is taken to the smelter to make bars, bars and coal taken to the weaponsmith to make weapons, weapons taken to the castle to equip troops.. etc. It was a game you could just watch for hours..
14 Mar, 2014 @ 4:09pm
25hrs now lol. Seriously though, my people eat too much and I'm always on the borderline between winning and losing and whenever things are going great, I get a fire or tornado that forces me to start over.. It would be cool if there was a fog of war or darkness where you haven't explored, and a reason to go exploring like randomised encounters that actually have benefits (currently there's only randomised text-only deaths, or natural disasters).

Right now, it's a bit boring. And I can't even relax and watch my people go about their lives because I always have to be doing something because there is little room for error..
