I started to play this game a couple of years ago and then stopped, as I had played as a mage and this felt quite boring. After finishing another RPG, I decided to give it another try and started from the beginning. Overall, I liked the game, despite its flaws. The characters, albeit representing fighter stereotypes, were interesting and the romance was compelling.
I general, I liked the story... at least up until the moment where a major character of the game became the main antagonist. But despite the game trying to explain this change also by letting the antagonist speak, I felt that this plot twist was weird and at times foreseeable and still out of place.
Combat did not always run smooth as the main character was at time a bit clumsy, The companions, however, were quite good at supporting the main character in combat.
The graphics were nice and the maps, despite being different, separate, smaller maps, were interesting to explore.
To me, the most interesting built was the technical one, since as a mage you can't rely on too many spells. I did not try the warrior yet, but in general I play either as a mage or as a rogue/technical character.
Altogether I liked the game and found it entertaining.

At the beginning, this game is tough, especially for someone like me who, after playing mainly RPGs and FPS', had started to quite only play Civilizations. However, the story and all the possibilities that the factions, cold feature and open world offered, encouraged me to continue my journey as former Alb Commander Jax.
I enjoyed the story, with its twists. The companions were interesting and believable, even though the relationship with Caja (or Nasty) could have been developed further.
Combat is very tough at the beginning, but after you gain enough experience to get better equipment and after joining a faction, the fun begins. Fighting mutants, Albs and Reavers becomes entertaining, although after reaching level 30 and upgrading my fighting skills, some battles became a bit too easy.
Overall, I really enjoyed playing Elex and can't wait to play the sequel.
