A lot of pixelated gore and hack&slash gameplay. The outset is somewhat similar to Dead Space but this time you're a ninja on a cursed space station, with lots of tricks up your sleeve. Having a lot of fun with it so far!

Prepare to be everybody's errand boy for 30 hours. "Could you get somewhere and steal some sh.. for me", "Could you get somewhere and blow up some sh.. for me", "Could you get somewhere and kill some sh.. for me"... Sometimes you won't even get paid for it, they'll just want you to do this because they think you're their b..ch or something (I'm not kidding, one of those guys literally said "The b..ch is back" when I came back). That's the whole frigging gameplay for you. One time I was asked to steal a sack of pot so that the other guy who didn't do sh.. to get it could smoke half of it with me. When I was bleeding to death, surrounded by a dozen of enemies guarding the f..ing pot, I could hear his voice in my head, saying "When you come back, we'll try it..." 10/10 experience.

On the plus side, there are really a lot of ways to destroy things and kill people in this game. If you're the type who wants to get creative with things like this, it's definitely for you. That, and the graphics is still really good. Just use some reshade mod with it so that everything wouldn't look like it's made of desaturated sh..

No heart achievement in this one, I'm disappointed

I played this, and my profile now lists thousands of identical achievements that don't even have icons (and make Steam crash after you exit the game). I'm so ashamed of myself.

Okay, if you haven't got the original version and if you're wondering whether you should get the original or this one, here's an honest and thorough explanation based on my personal experience.

The only thing that's definitively good about the definitive edition is better textures. The payback is that it's four times larger now (35 GB vs. 8 GB), but it's not that much of a problem today. Oh yeah, there's probably one more good thing: that nasty bug where PhysX could cause a crash is probably fixed (at least, I haven't encountered it).

Now, about the bad things:

1. With new textures, most faces now look older and uglier (in my opinion). Everyone's hair became too shiny as if it's covered in grease or is just made from plastic. Also, the 4K-textures seem to abruptly end just below the neck. If someone's wearing a shirt with their chest partially visible, It's very noticeable, and it looks... bad.

2. There's a whole bunch of graphical glitches now, like flickering pieces of textures or some floating pieces of glass "attached" to your car. Sometimes, the character's mouth won't open, and sometimes his eyes are looking in the wrong direction. (and PhysX for Vito's clothes is glitchy, too) This looks either bad, funny, or just stupid.

3. The new graphics will lower your FPS in a lot of scenes. Interestingly enough, the benchmark showed some great increase in FPS when there's no shooting or anything, but in the action scenes, it dropped so low that the average became worse than in the original.

4. Weirdly enough, the game managed to corrupt my DLC save file once, so that each time I reloaded, there was nothing but an empty gray screen with a minimap (I could move, but I couldn't see anything). I managed somehow to reach my apartment using the minimap, and when I opened the apartment door, the problem was gone. This never happened in the original version. If I weren't lucky enough to solve it, I would have to restart the whole DLC (which was 84% complete at the time) because there's always just one save file! This just isn't right.

5. In DLCs, the briefing pictures are now either missing or censored for some reason, which is not nice either. Also, some of Jimmy's lines were redubbed for some reason, and the original ones sounded better (in my opinion).

All in all, there are too many cons. I wouldn't even say that the new textures made the game look better because the difference is not drastic and, also, it's pretty obvious they weren't originally intended. I mean, it looks obvious, as if they don't belong. The original faces look more attractive and more natural, and system requirements are lower, too.

Многим, однако, покажется, что игра слишком коротка для своих денег - даже первое прохождение, неторопливое, вдумчивое, с прослушиванием всех диалогов (вернее, монологов) и прочтением всех заметок займёт всего часа два-три. А одно из достижений вообще дают за то, чтобы собрать всю историю за 10 минут (я уложился в шесть с половиной).

Отдельно могу отметить атмосферу. Хотя ни врагов, ни ужасов здесь нет, эта игра выглядит как ужастик - не знаю, намеренно или нет. Дом очень зловещий. В нём постоянно раздаются какие-то скрипы, шорохи, снаружи то и дело грохочет гром, лампы почему-то дают слишком мало света (а могут и неожиданно замигать или вовсе погаснуть) - короче, это вам не дом Финчей (из "Edith Finch"). Если вы из впечатлительных, здесь вам может быть страшно зайти в очередную комнату (если играть вечером в темноте). Воистину, самые большие страхи - не те, что могут показать, а те, что у нас в голове.
