i never had a PS1 and yet the nostalgia this is giving me is tangible

the vibes are immaculate and if you are interested in the genre this is a must buy - or, at the very least, the demo disc is right there!!

Vampire Survivors and Risk of Rain both permanently altered my brain chemicals and I cannot wait to see what Megabonk does to them next

I typically really suck at these types of games but this one has really blown my mind. It's shockingly intuitive, the controls are so amazingly polished. I am only a few hours in so I know I've only just scratched the surface.

This is a game where you can tell the developers had an absolute blast making it - there's so many small details and things to stumble onto where they didn't have to go the extra mile, but they did because it was silly or felt right and it just shows. Every time I'm like "oh I hope there's something like [thing]" I turn the corner and THERE IT IS.

While it's already a more than complete experience, the developers have tons of content planned for future updates so you'll be sucking and blowing for a LONG time. The soundtrack is an extra pile of cherries on top of a delicious experience (assuming you love cherries as much as I do).

PURIFICATION IN PROGRESS

Literally GOTY all years since Barbuta came out in 1982. UFO Soft continues to deliver banger after banger, and this collection truly highlights this. There are no "minigames" here - each game is a full, incredible experience spanning dozens of genres. Thanks to them, the LX console series was a must have for any gamer.

This is a fun game - the menus aren't fully in English in a lot of places, and there's no English tutorial, but it's simple enough to figure out. I really enjoyed it and want to play more, but it now crashes every time I defeat a boss enemy and select an upgrade. It's happened across several maps and with multiple characters. The devs haven't seemed to put out an update in over a year, so it's unlikely to be fixed, which is a bummer because everything else about this game is very cool. If this is fixed though, this is absolutely a banger worth picking up.

Absolutely stunning platforming, clever jump puzzles and incredible movement in a short and sweet experience. All around excellence and highly recommend, at this price it's an absolute steal.

Risk of Rain Returns is building upon one of my favorite games of all time, smoothing out any roughness from the first game and building upon everything I loved. The updated art is incredible, the soundtrack is as always phenomenal and even at 20 hours I feel like I've hardly scratched the surface.
Fans of only 2 may feel a bit lost with only 2D movement, but anybody who has played the original will feel right at home again. It's like riding a bike.
