Starting your game up you might think this is somewhat of a battle royale set in 1890 Lousiana swamps.
And it is. But it's far more than that. It's like delving deep into feverish nightmares as you're forced to not only face other players, but also, as the ultimate goal of every match, to kill at least one boss, perish his soul from this realm and collect the bounty. Visually it's a stunning game as the design of characters, weapons and maps is beautiful and the low HUD makes you really feel immersed into this game. Having not much of a HUD might sound like a bad thing, but trust me, everything needed is there.

The game has a steep learning curve and it might be very tiring to lose over and over again for stupid reasons. But once you escape your first matches safely you will feel a lot of relieve and adrenaline at the same time.

So yeah, it's a blast of a game you should give a try if you like an alternative approach on the battle royale gameplay. But beware: It's less about grabbing weapons (since you already bring your own guns) but rather about surviving the enemies both human and inhuman, alive and aliven't.

Imagine a cute, little girl gifting you a cookie.
It's a nice chocolate chunk cookie.

Now imagine that girl kicking you in the shins and taking that cookie away from you.
That's Dark Souls.
