Easy win, even easier than defeating 2 billion bugs within 12 hours imo, even though it wasn't as quick.

FInally finished, and as an Armored Core fan I'm left wondering when FromSoft will get their ♥♥♥♥ together and make you know... an Armored Core game, not a Dark Sekiro Core game. A HUGE step down from Armored Core V, and I thought that would've been the worst of it. Thought they would've learned from 10 years ago, but popularity and money got in their way it seems (Or tbf, it could've mostly been because Miyazaki had to let Yamamura handle most of development). Last good game (AC4FA, completely directed by Miyazaki) was kind of different from the standards that previous AC games made, but it still worked very well and is still a favorite to a large portion of AC fans, if not most.

This game though... jesus christ, what the hell have they done? The only things that are mostly left intact from Armored Core is the mission structure, garage, and I *guess* the music (NGL, "Contact With You" was a very good soundtrack).

The Big Problems:
Less customization in this game. No Shoulder parts, far less choices for each AC part category, and you can't fine-tune the performance of parts.
Combat is butchered all over the place with unfitting and overly-dramatic Stagger mechanics and animations that cancel your momentum (which can end up punishing you severely against some opponents), there's 3 instant repair kits every mission (What is the point of making them instant? Instead of instant free HP, just increase the health of Armored Cores), obnoxious Ricochet mechanic makes you get closer to do meaningful damage so shotguns and melee-using ACs and bosses have a better chance in combat (ACV had it too, but wasn't as bad).
Movement is a janky mess (ie boosters randomly turning off despite them supposed to being a toggle, not even ACV messed this up.), and not to mention they walk and turn like the charas in Sekiro or DS while you're not shooting, which also creates a slight delay if you want the AC to shoot in a certain direction.
Bosses (non-AC) are just a gimmick you can easily learn since they're heavily reliant on animations or attacks, and some can be dodged by literally normal boosting left or right. Memorize their attack patterns- and they're no longer a challenge. Only *some* of the ACs can remain a challenge, but nothing is really that hard in this game once you see the Dark Souls/Sekiro gimmicks. Only really had to change my AC parts (switched from my preorder bipedal to another bipedal which provided slightly better boost) once for the fight against one of the final bosses.

There's lots of other problems as well, but I'm suppose there's little need to continue on. This review will probably be buried by the DS fan reviews who haven't played AC before, or some AC Vets who are high on copium, not that I can blame them though; it's been a 10 year wait. Armored Core died after V/VD, and I'm not seeing the series going back to its roots from Fromsoft since their dominant Dark Souls fans have been very loyal and will support almost any game they release, which means they'll continue with this formula, and probably even butcher it further. Even if there's an AC6 DLC or even AC7, it most likely won't be Armored Core anymore. Thanks for nothing after I waited 10 years, Fromsoft. Throw away what kept you afloat in your early years and enjoy the popular reviews and money rolling in. "Fromsoft doesn't miss" my ass.

I gave this game a quick try, and from what I saw it's really phancy and phun. I need to play this more often.

Pretty good classic. Keybinds and controls might take a while to get used to, and the game is somewhat janky but it's still a fun experience... most of the time.

Also, screw the Inviso-Mutants on level 3.

After playing this for a few hours, I think it's safe to say it's pretty good.

Early Access Review
Customization is pretty good, and you have tons of options. Just be aware that you have to grind to unlock most other parts aside from a few initial parts.

Combat needs to be changed, most of the smallest enemies in the game takes over a mag (about over 5,000-6,000 points of damage on average if I recall correctly) to kill with almost any weapon you can make, and the slightly bigger enemies will almost milk you dry of ammo which is why I recommend taking out all of the smaller guys first. However if you spend enough time grinding for upgrades you might eventually be able to wipe out enemies significantly faster, but I'm nowhere near that level yet so I can't confirm how much of a difference it'll make.

Some missions could take you over 20-40 minutes to complete depending on your loadout, and at the time I posted this, there's only about 8 missions (6 story and 2 hunt missions) which you can complete within 2-3 hours (probably less tbh).

For an Early Access game, it's honestly not bad. I just hope this game continues receiving further polish in a timely manner.

Don't recommend this if you're looking for skill-based combat. If anyone says there's "skill" and "strategy" try playing older mechwarrior titles than compare the combat from those to this. Grinding and P2W is the key to this game, without it your strategies will not be very effective against fully grinded or P2W players.
