unique and refreshing in an era of high budget, high polish, attention abusing live service slop. no battle pass, no seasons, no loot boxes, no classes, no unlocks, no front-loaded complexity, no adhd-brained UX. just laser focused on the irrefutably rock solid and time tested core premise of putting guys in an arena with weapons. executed fearlessly, unashamed of its imperfections, and embracing absurdity where another more "refined" game might sanitize these things away. the most fun i've had playing an online video game in a very long time, and a testament to the efficacy of a fun-first design approach.
