I think this game is brilliant. I have an absolute blast playing with friends, there is downsides but you have to see past that. The gun play in this game is hard to learn but if you put in the effort it's worth the price. I play in a clan of 8 (with friends varying between 1k+ hrs to 100hrs) and we have a blast, we aren't scared to hide loot. This is my most played game at time of review and I don't think I will ever lose interest in rust, I have been watching rust and playing since early 2017 and I haven't not appreciated a minute in the game, community is toxic but I prefer it to be toxic rather than a bunch of softies. I can have a laugh with anyone in game and it's entertaining. Whether I am being toxic or just having a bit of fun. I would highly recommend this game if you're playing with friends.

EDIT: 900 hours later, I still love this game.
