Amazing game. Great mash-up of a bunch of different genres and systems, and it just works wonderfully. Can't wait to see what the future holds for it.

This game is so good I bought it twice.

Bought into the alpha on EGS back when the world was a simpler place, and ended up buying it again on Steam to support the developers.

Absolutely fantastic game!

Update: Game is still very satisfactory. 👍

1.0 update: Yep, game is still immensely satisfactory. 👍

A lovely game to just sit back and relax, while building a transport empire.

Builds upon the first one, and does it well. Definitely one to play if you enjoy these types of games. :)

This game is super cozy and relaxing to play. There's so many things to do and you can often get caught up in the "just one more day" trap - and then it's 3 AM.

The developers are good at adding new fancy things, and the game just keeps getting better. I, for one, am enjoying my time at Portia. :)

Been following the game for quite a while, as well as played it a lot pre Steam release.
What initially caught my eye was that it looked like Transport Tycoon Deluxe, which is an all-time favourite of mine. But let's be clear here: It doesn't play like TTD. There are certainly similarties, but this is a game about production and logistics, and less so about transportation. Transportation is still important and plays a role, but it is not the focus of the game.

With that said what does Rise of Industry offer? A very compelling tycoon game that has a good degree of difficulty. It can be a little daunting at first, but the improved tutorial helps in this regard. Regardless there are a lot of possibilities for making profit, as well as losing money if you're not paying attention or not planning correctly.

Your goal is to make money (surprise!) by building farms, factories, harvesters and so on, which produce different types of goods, which can be sold to towns, helping them grow so they can accept more of the same goods, as well as new goods. The produced goods can also be combined into goods that are worth more, but requires more investment to produce, as you'll require multiple different goods to make them. This is the key of the game, to set up your production to create more and more money for you. Good old tycoon'ing done the right way!
This can still be tricky though due to various factors, but this is something you will discover as you play, as well as depending on the map you're playing.

The gameplay systems are solid, and still getting improved and reworked if a better solution is found. It creates a very balanced game that is already fun and challenging, and from the time I've spent following and playing the game, it has only improved in all aspects.
It is early access, so it's not done, obviously. But even now there is plenty of gaming to be found in it, without any severe bugs hindering your enjoyment.

The future is looking good for the game as well. The developers are very active and engaging with the community about issues and suggetions. Even going as far as asking the community for input on future planned changes, to get possible points of view that they hadn't thought of themselves. Not design by committee, but just getting a different set of eyes on something from an outside perspective.

If you like tycoon games and don't require it to be all about transportation, then this game is certainly worth it. The asking price is in my opinion well worth it, as you will easily get your money's worth if you're a production tycoon in the making. So while it's not the next TTD (it was never intended to be), it is its own game, and a very good game at that!

This is a great game if you liked the old Populous games. It's still early and thus quite barebones, but it's shaping up very nicely! (It's rather addicting as well.)
