Surprise Surprise, another Guilty Boomer
Context
I've played a lot of Xrd and dabbled in a lot of fighting games. I don't consider myself very good and would say I'm only slightly better than a casual. I played Leo in Xrd and continue to play Leo in Strive (though I'm thinking of switching to a character who plays less clunky).
Review
TL;DR - Strive is Great if you are coming from anywhere but a previous Guilty Gear game.

While this isn't my favorite Guilty Gear, it definitely hits a lot of what I have loved in GG outside of the actual gameplay. Aesthetically it's amazing and very consistent. It's hard to find an anime game that looks as good as Strive by any company. The music is good, some tracks are definitely weaker (wish we had the option for vocal-less versions of the tracks), but you can always fish (gamble) your world money to hopefully get some of the Vastedge or Xrd music.
As a game, I think strive fails to deliver what previous Guilty Gears sought to do and aims to be more mainstream in the process. Gone are the days of scramble-y offense and strong defense options. Now, you are stuck with burning your burst on the first combo attempt and having to wait your turn to press a button or have enough for YRC (which replaces dead angles). Removing gattlings feels like it removed a core experience of GG and makes light buttons only really useful for a couple of situations instead of being a primary combo starter. It makes the game feel less unique and more like everything else out there.

Early Access Review
Don't like anti-cheat on platform that likes to think of itself as a game.

Things I like about Cyberpunk:

- Gameplay is fun but a bit boring
- VA is pretty good
- Story wraps up neatly.

Things I don't like about Cyberpunk:

- Gameplay is unbalanced and almost any dedicated build is good fairly quickly. For me Monowires and blades outpaced guns really quickly as I was able to get the higher quality melee weapons faster.
- It's more of a Looter Shooter than a tried and true RPG
- I wish the story gave you more time with Jacky and building back your life as a Solo. Miss that aspect of working with a fixer and a crew to get work done and build up your Rep. You don't get the crew aspect in the normal

I love this game. It's one of my favorite games of the last decade. It's very hard to compete with a game that is just pure fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously in terms of story, but the gameplay pushes you to be better and learn more. As you go up the difficulty chain, you get more moves, more understanding and are able to perform wild feats of your own ingenuity.
I think that I feel the need to point out that it has less air mobility than DMC4, no LDK or Turbo mode. It's kind of sad to see some stuff limited to DMC4 or the console release.

One of my favorite games of this decade.
Combat is very fluid and hectic. You are forced to make decisions quickly which adds to the zaniness of this game. I really enjoy how every character is designed to play differently. It really forces you to learn the system mechanics well so you can handle situations that you aren't 100% familiar with.

While this game has been an amazing learning experience and extremely fun to play. The lack of interesting story content has made lose interest in the world and has slowly made stop playing the game. For me, the story drove a lot of content and the story recently hasn't gone down the path I enjoyed and more focuses on the open world content. I would appreciate a return to the core content as we have been dealing with Purple Space Mom for a long time.
Additionally combat has gotten repetitive (though this is always true and I can somewhat forgive) and modding stagnant. The only thing to spice up modding as of late has been Rivens. While Rivens are a cool concept, they go on the market for quite a bit of plat, and are too rare to be of any use. I would really like to see some way to make modding fun and get rid of mainstays like serration that FORCE you to mod a certain way for over half the mod capacity of a weapon. Ideally, these weapons have base stats increased and mods that are forced for each weapon type are removed.

At once this was a great game. However it's gone down the drain in recent years with the lack of moderation.
