At first, was not a fan of Steve. By the end, I'm happy we made amends.

10/10 game, looking forward to the next game.

Early Access Review
I would like to preface that I am a fan of Wayfinder. Despite the rough start, I have found myself enjoying the game. That stated it would be dishonest to not call attention to both the good and the bad.

A general review of the Early Access launch

The launch of Wayfinder's Early access left a lot to be desired. It was very evident the developers were not prepared for the quantity of eager players that flooded the servers, the bugs that caused delays, or the other surprises like missing Founders packs. Understandably this caused an uproar with the new community that had pre-established expectations. Wayfinder had been delayed by 2 days, originally estimated to be released on August 15th, but the Developers postponed the game to iron out final issues they had discovered at the time of. Thankfully, this was provided the day before the initial release as seen on their post:

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1171690/view/5466859616689664407?l=english

It would appear the 2 days of fixing was not enough time for the smooth start both Airship Syndicate and Digital Extremes, as well as, the community of players eager to finally play the game they had previously Closed Beta. On the 17th of August the metaphorical doors opened and with it new surprises for developers and gamers alike. Individuals who bought the Early Access Exalted pack, let alone the less expensive packs, found this missing from their inventories upon logging in. This is assuming these players were able to log into the game as the servers were unable to support the player count. Why the servers were not prepared for the quantity of players is not for me to say. What can be said is the developers were quick to respond. As of the end of the weekend, August 20th, the game is more stable than it was on launch; however, players are only able to play if they are willing to sit through a queue. A queue that can range between 30 minutes when the servers aren't as active or multiple hours if you are unlucky. It is this reason at the time of writing Wayfinder has gained many negative reviews on Steam, something I personally hope can be reversed in time.

Personally, I would like to say thank you to the Discord Community Managers Sir_Snarf and SOLIDage for the transparency and patience during the 4 days of server and bug fixes the discord community brought to their attention. Additionally to DE Nero and DE Nath who responded to my own inquiry regarding the state of the updates.

The important question. How is the game?
The core gameplay of Wayfinder is simple. At base the game offers a combination of limited open world and instance based procedurally generated dungeons that vary in difficulty. The complexity comes in how you play and upgrade your wayfinder. Any wayfinder has access to the available weapons beyond their "starting" equipment; however, this requires you to unlock other weapons though mastery. Additionally you are able to modify your wayfinder with Echos found in the dungeons. If you you play Digital Extreme's other game Warframe, it is similar to modding but not as extensive.

Similarly to Warframe, Wayfinder has an in game store where you are able to purchase a wayfinder, alternative weapons, cosmetics, emotes, and decorations for your personal room. The currency for this is paid and not earned in game; however, it is very evident this is not pay to progress but rather pay for convenience. Wayfinders, weapons, furniture, cosmetics, and emotes can be earned though gameplay. Wayfinders, weapons, and furniture can be unlocked though a crafting system requiring players to gather the necessary materials for their desired reward; meanwhile, cosmetics and emotes are able to be earned though leveling up an in game battle pass equivalent known as the Reward Tower. At the time of writing, it is unclear if this is a free feature or if this will cost players in future events.

Okay... but what criticisms are there?
It is too early in the game's release to provide any proper criticisms or complaints about Wayfinder as a game. Its launch was not perfect, but expecting perfection from an Early Access game is foolish and laughable. It does go without saying, Digital Extremes and by association Airship Syndicate were not prepared. Digital Extremes is no stranger to having a massive player count to one of their games. It would be reasonable to assume they would expect one of their games to gain popularity among players, especially those familiar with their other works (looking at you Warframe and eventually Soulframe) . Hype for a game can spread like a fire or a cancer and it all depends on response time and transparency, something that has been seen these last few days thankfully.

My final thoughs
I have no doubt in the coming days to months there will be a continuous uphill battle earn back the trust of the community. A challenge for sure, but both a required one and a burden the developers will carry with understanding of the situation. I look forward to continuing my personal experience with Wayfinders and seeing how the game develops over time. I hope to see this game get a proper life cycle and have a prospering community who can look past the rough beginnings and can bloom into something that gains popularity for the right reasons. It may not rival games such as Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV, or Elder Scrolls Online but honestly if you sit down and give it a try I think people will enjoy it.

For those who took the time to read my ramblings, thank you.

Early Access Review
Having waited for a sequel to Risk of Rain 1 for some time, I was excited to hear about the release of Risk of Rain 2. RoR2 is a roguelike crawler "dungeon" crawler with unlockables to acquire though challenges and repeated gameplay in a 3D setting (in comparison to Risk of Rain 1 which was entirely 2D).

Let it be known that on the first run, you will die. You will meet an end that will be both infuriating but also satisfying. Much like the its predecessor, Risk of Rain 2 is a game that encourages you to repeat gameplay, test new items you've unlocked, and survive for as long as you can. Death is inevitable and will either come at the hands of the enemies or yourself but that is but one cycle. With dozens of items to unlock, new characters to play as, and music that sets the perfect mood for each location/realm it is no wonder why I have returned to this game a number of times. Play on your own, with friends, or people you want to troll just jump right in and have fun in the madness.

Trove, a blocky game with more or less to offer than that of Minecraft.
The pros:
- No creepers
- Actual weapons
- Lots of blocks
- Odd but fun game modes
- Fun dungeons to raid
- Mounts and wings that make life easy to move around
- Did i mention there are no creeepers?

Cons:
- Like any Online game, there is a lot of grinding (and i mean A LOT)
- Quick start up but you can tell when the games begins to slow down in gameplay
- Although it isn't obvious, there is a big emphasis on in game purchases (which sorta sucks).
- The graphics could be a bit less blocky.
- No Story/lore

Trove isn't a carbon copy of minecraft (thankfully). It has it's own charm and gameplay. The best way to describe it is fun, vibrant, but also challenging. It's a game that is more fun when playing with friends, especially when doing the shadow tower dungeon.

For a F2P game, I am proud to say that I have been part of the community for a few years. Digital Extremes has put tons of effort and hours into the game to make it enjoyable and playable, even with the minor bugs that pop up every so often. A solid game with some story to it; however, if you just want to have a game where you can be a "space ninja" that guns down, slices, and murders everything then look no further. Whether you enjoy solo play or team play, Warframe is a game that fits all needs. Even though there is an optional in game payments, it is not necessarily a pay to win. All items, warframes, weapons, and companions are farmable in the game. The use of actual money isn't to make you overpowerd, it is more or less a way for you to get whatever it is you want without the farming (did I forget to mention that there is a lot of grinding in this game for stuff? HUh.... only downside).

It is definatly a different take on a first person shooter. The more you play as either monster or hunter, the better you get (much like any game); however, even the best of the best can be destroyed when facing someone that knows how work around the weaknesses of each character. Play as monster and evolve as fast as you can, or get gun down before you can even reach your first evolution. Play as the hunters and hunt down the monster asap or else you are in a world of hurt. That doesn't mean either side is more over powered than the other though, it just makes the game a fun challenge. Reccomend playing in solo matches to learn how to use the different characters THEN go online. Beware of try hards too :P

Early Access Review
For an early access game, Grimm Eclipse is very enjoyable. I personally cant wait till there is more content and possibly more characters to play. If there was even a story mode i would be even more amazed. Overall in the game's current development state, its a god game.

To describe Garry's Mod is like trying to explain insanity and or chaos. The game overall is a great game to play, whether you are creating something out of props alone or with a group of friends. There are always moments in the games that can bring out the humor in gaming; however, there are also moments of horror, especially when the object that you have created accidentally kills everyone in your game. For better or for worse, this game is worth getting. The overal simple nature of the game allows the player to make it into something far more what the developer of the game, and the added games such as Team Fortress 2 or Portal 2, into something fun.
