To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Fatshark developers. The roadmap is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical crafting systems, most of the full release features will go over a typical gamer's head.

There's also Hedge's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his communications- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The diehard fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly understand and appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise they don't just say something about the state of Darktide - they say something about LIFE.

As a consequence, when people say they dislike Darktide, they truly are idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Hedge's existencial catchphrase "immesurably complex" which itself is a cryptic reference to HelloGame's epic NoMansSky.

I'm smirking right now just imagining one of these addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Fatshark's latest genius installment unfolds itself on their ultrawide monitor.

And yes by the way, I DO have a trapper tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies eyes only. And even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 penance points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
