The most focused and accurate depiction of the details of Japanese life and culture during the period of 1995 to 2005 that has ever been made.
Also, it has received the stamp of approval from real-life Yakuza as a mostly faithful depiction of organized crime.

I've been a fan of the EBF series since 2011, back on Kongregate, and I believe EBF5 is the perfect continuation to the series. In essence, it's still the same two-dimensional turn-based RPG as EBF4 and all it's predecessors, including flash game nostalgia, but with a long list of quality of life improvements. This includes the ability to skip just about any menu or cutscene interation, although it's not like you'd want to miss the unique and beautiful artstyle of the world and characters.
Gameplay has been optimized in such a way that you can have your kids breeze through the game in under ten hours on the lowest difficulty, with adult content like blood censored of course, or spend 70 or more hours completing every achievement and medal on Epic difficulty and abusing the combat system to ludicrous effect. Collecting each of the summonable foes is practically a game unto itself.
One of the key features of the game is the newly fleshed out characters and story, which helps connect the player to the struggles of the five playable characters. Also adding to the wider appeal of the game is the expanded languages available, which is no small task for smaller indie games to accomplish. Speaking of things that Indie games rarely do, the soundtrack is an incredible work by Phyrnna, and deserves praise for how it remains catchy and fun to listen to even after hearing it for a hundred hours, to say nothing of the emotion it can bring out when it wants to.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is an aproachable game for any age and skill level, and is full of secrets and easter eggs. I strongly recommend it to anyone that has enjoyed the 2D Final Fantasy games, Earthbound, Undertale or Pokemon.
