It's fun for what it is: gambling with options to manipulate your luck. Not a masterpiece, but a very fun time.

I really wanted to like Psychopomp, but overall I would not recommend it to most people. It is very artsy and symbolic and full of neat ideas. Unfortunately, the gameplay is a slog. It's a game that wants you to find all the secrets, but makes finding the secrets incredibly boring. The first few levels have some interesting level design and feel fun to move through. At that point in the game, everything is a mystery and you're questioning everything.
Then the levels start getting bigger and thus more of a chore to get around. You move so slow in the game and your running bar is limited. I /want/ to find all the secrets and talk to all the characters, but then it will take me even longer to get back to the main objective. You also come to realize all the levels are structured the same. Everything is symmetrical. Your end goal is always in the middle. It';s difficult to die in the game, but you're punished harshly for doing so. The punishment is having to walk slowly through the level all over again.
There's also basic settings missing from the game. What sort of game releases without an option to adjust audio?
Overall, only buy this game if you like super deep symbolic head bending games and don't care about gameplay.

More than a month has passed since I've completed this game, and I'm still thinking about it. The story is incredibly gripping. The music is phenomenal. Every part of the game is worth sinking your teeth in to.

The game itself is fine. Very samey after awhile, but it hits the "make number bigger" itch. I also like figuring out the best way to get placement bonuses.

I do not recommend it, however, because it uses AI art. Steam doesn't have a big sticker that says "uses AI," so I missed it at the bottom of the store page. Because of the type of game it was, I wasn't really paying attention to the art at first. As I played, however, I started to notice how everything looked slightly off. Things that should be pretty simple squares were askew, there was random colored bits where there shouldn't be, and nothing really looks right. I started /really/ looking at all the art, and it became more obvious. I checked the store page and saw at the bottom that, yes, the game is made with AI art.

It's unfortunate I didn't do my research. I would have definitely refunded if I was paying attention.

A really great concept and very ambitious. Unfortunately, it is very buggy. Maybe give it more time to cook before purchasing.

Cute little game. Not super complex but all the little activities you get to do make it worthwhile.

I was really looking forward to this game after playing the demo, but as it currently is I cannot recommend it. The first level is great and teaches you the main mechanics of the game. It's challenging but not impossible. But then you play the 2nd level, and the difficulty level spikes up way too drastically. It's not bad to fail a level a few times before you get it right, but because the level layouts are random it's RNG on whether you'll get a good start and also means it's very difficult to plan and learn from each failure. The levels also take just long enough to get to the final wave that when you fail it feels like a huge waste of time.
There's also much needed QoL that needs to be added to the game, like a way to find idle units or being able to jump to units/buildings/civs under attack.
I really hope this game makes it through EA and comes out a great game. I don't want to write it off yet and it has a lot of charm, just needs some more work.
