Still worth playing although I don't think all of the Smite 2 changes were beneficial to the overall gameplay experience.
Active items and aspects are certainly fun, but not balanced at least not yet. It's still beta though and the roster is still incomplete so possibly by the end it'll be awesome.
P.S. Still no VGS to attack Pyromancer or the Knight on Joust map xD big sad

It's been quite a while since my previous negative review, I've added 1100 hours since then so I guess somethings gone well.
A17 was utter crap but at least the game has improved mostly since then. Still its only mods that keep this game alive at this point. A game with such little content can't survive on 1 update a year without a good modding community.

The best game in its genre with an active modding community that isn't even required to sustain it.
The only gripe I have with this game when trying to change the controls you'll have trouble if you want to use extra mouse buttons. But they'll hopefully fix that sometime :)

Had to redo my earlier review due to it no longer being true.

The game is still good for the casual player that wants to play with a few buddies but any competitive, end-game seeking player is SOL.

End-game PVP is non-existent. PVP gear doesn't exist, none of your mods/weapons can be taken into pvp at all. So with PVP no longer an option we're left with end-game PVE. Let's talk about that.

First of all, with PVP so ♥♥♥♥, we know PVE is all the game has going for it. But is their enough unique satisfying content at the highest level to hold a competitive PVMer? Not even close.

Most if not all bosses are extremely easy after you're geared out with all primes and good mods. And the ones that require a team to fight, only do so because of some gimmicky game mechanic.

Really it can be summed up in one question. Have you played the game for a few hours? Well then you're pretty much already out of unique content.
Of course there is unique content, just not nearly enough of it. It's all, go here kill these, go here survive for x amount of rounds, go here and capture this guy.
Over and over and over again the same ♥♥♥♥ different day gameplay. It's fun for awhile until you see behind the veil. That in reality you're just grinding for nothing.

In other MMo's you're grinding for a goal, not JUST to get another prime part. There's more than the grind, when the grind ends you move to the next thing. Whether you like PVP or PVM is your thing, just know you'll find neither with this game that will satisfy none but the casual Saturday with friends.
