First Impression: I've been very excited for this game for years, but also incredibly worried for it. Now that I'm hands on, it's destroyed my expectations. This is a very special game, one I anticipate will age like wine, but it's far perfect. If you can stomach often janky, intentionally obtuse design elements and aren't repelled by pretty limp story and characters, the world and game underneath is so worth the effort to learn and invest in. The road ahead me is still so so long, but I'm looking forward to every step.

One of the most natural and rewarding progressions I've experienced. 5 hours blew by and I enjoyed the whole experience. Nothing beats a good night's rest.

This is game is pretty awesome. Especially considering it's F2P. And it really is VERY F2P friendly. Which makes the quantity and quality of the content available even more impressive. There's a bit of timegating. Both global timegates on level/story progression that updates each day to keep everyone progressing at roughly the same pace along with the usual stamina system. The latter feels pretty generous so far though.

It's got plenty of issues tho. So many damn bugs. Text/Translation issues, voice/music not playing, getting stuck on geometry, expected yet plentiful pop-in, and many more. Game's never crashed on me tho and I haven't personally been soft-locked or kept from playing because of them.

UI is weird and takes a lot of getting use to. And I like what they're doing with the story, in general, but the storytelling is very... awkward. Primarily in the event sequencing and the abrupt way scenes can play out. The bugs definitely don't help in that regard. There's also some awkardness in movement and interacting with things. Movement can feel a bit tank-like or unresponsive when trying to be precise and activating interactibles like doors/switches/sidling/assassinations feel unresponsive when trying to trigger the prompts.

But beyond that, The world, exploration, combat, bosses, music and side quests/activities are very engaging and it's been really hard to stop playing. It's an incredibly dense game and I find something new and rewarding every play session I've had. Look forward to seeing this game unfold and hope it has a bright long future.

Such a dope game. Even in its current state. The game handles so well, the destruction is awesome, and the creativity in build craft is so rewarding. Can't recommend enough.

Two things to get out of the way.

Does this game feel like a mobile game?
In many ways, absolutely. It has many UI and reward structure hallmarks and can be played on your phone with very intuitive cross progression.

Is this game Pay To Win?
Yes. Pets and the pact system can provide stat increases, especially drop chance. It is a marginal increase but an increase nonetheless.

That said, this game is low key really good. I'm really surprised. It may not have the best graphics, story, lore and combat may not have the weight or impact of other titles in the genre, but It's definitely a Min/Maxer's dream. Always something to push for. So much build freedom and layers upon layers of build craft. You can push for full build automation or go for a multi-key combo playstyle. League mechanics are fun and rewarding. Crafting is has many deterministic features and is easy to understand. And the QOL is out of this world. What ever you want to build, grind for, or accomplish this game feels like it's considered those options and actively works to remove points of frustration in working to achieve them. If the mobile game structure/aesthetic and pay to win aspects aren't a deal breaker, I definitely recommend it.

Early Access Review
Game's fun. Really fun. Know at this point it's an Open beta but had no connection issues. Character kits have a lot of nuance and there's a lot of global mechanics to wrap your head around. So a lot to chew on with a high skill ceiling. Lot of QoL for getting into matches quickly too. Biggest complaint is all the... "Streamer Culture" lingo baked into UI and cosmetic features. Nothing major but still cringe. Look forward to more characters and features.

It's got some jank, but this is genuinely a great survivors game. It's got longer legs than most too with a big upward grind. Lots of build diversity. Just wish there were more characters and the loot system was a bit more varied, interesting and less annoying.
