Early Access Review
Sadly, an abandoned game, just before the great promised update.
Shame, really; it was pretty decent, even if tedious to get through.

puzzles layered upon puzzles layered upon puzzles, with a great overarching plot if you care to find it.
PS: the credits aren't the end ;)

this has to be the most unsatisfying puzzle I've played. 3 hours of constant clicking and no completed sections. It's made in a way where you CAN'T just complete a section without filling up half of the board.

- textures load in way too slow and in batches, causing massive lag on later stages of terraformation
- there's no proper interesting story to follow
- lots of geometry bugs (see-through walls, walls without collision, etc)
- map isn't that interesting, and is much smaller than in the original (instead of small caves with goodies all over, you get the most crucial resources simply from flowers that grow everywhere)
- changes on the map due to terraformation are massively underwhelming, except for 1 single spot which I won't spoil
- only 1 new machine, otherwise the gameplay is the exact same as in the base game
- no new achievements

I've finished the base game twice, but with the DLC, I stopped at the insect stage, because it just felt like I was playing the base game for the 3rd time. This isn't a finished product.

TLDR; unless you are a massive fan of this game, don't buy. Even if you are, wait a few months for IF the devs fix the map up.

This game sadly takes all the joy out of idle games
It starts out fine, but increasingly becomes a checklist of exact setups you need to be cycling actively for hours and hours, only to "reward you" with a full game reset with a bonus after 180 hours of gameplay.

Messed up 1.0 launch with the random modifiers. I wish I could go back to how the game was in Early Access. Having 3 guardians chase you at the same time, throwing 24 bombs at you at once is neither fair or fun.
It's a shame, because the core gameplay is really, really fun.

Early Access Review
EDIT: all my complaints below have been fixed in the last update, so I'm changing the review to positive :)

Shouldn't have released, even in its current state.
There are several ways to hard-lock yourself out of your savefile, gameplay becomes very repetitive several hours in, and the progress you make in the game is so slow that even those few hours will only barely start you off.
That said, there's a lot of promise to the game; the atmosphere is great, the exploration aspect is amazing, too, and the building system is very deep. I just wish it didn't take 100+ hours to fully explore the building system, when the actual content the game has is only a few hours long; after that, all there was for me to do was wait around for loot respawns and rent payments (literally, i'd turn the game on and go to a shop across the street, letting it run to make some progress).
I've heard this is a 1-2 person studio, and with the game being originally released 6 YEARS AGO, they seem to have bitten off more than they can chew.
I'll be back to redo this review after some updates, but I really couldn't recommend it now to anyone, out of the respect for their own time.

Great relaxing game, not too tedious to complete. Especially great if you remember games like Motherload :)
