I have a 3080 and can only run this at 40 with the frame gen turned off on medium graphics and using tons of console commands to turn off high demand visuals. This game is HORRIBLY optimized, it should never have been remade on unreal engine 5 if the devs are this incompetent with the engine.

This game is amazing but with some flaws.

The current loadout system is shared between the team so you do not get your own equipment, this means anyone less than intelligent teammate can take all the best equipment and lose it permanently for your team.

There is also a fairly rampant cheater problem, at least one every 5 games.

The netcode is also an issue, with getting domed before you can even see someone come around a corner occasionally or getting shot after you get into hard cover.

I really want to see this game succeed but the lack of personal loadouts and occasional cheaters make it difficult to grow.

I enjoyed the hell out of the game on launch despite the bugs and crashes. While they have fixed many issues there are many more popping up every update.

I made this negative review originally when Sony decided to screw everyone over with forced account linking, but then they walked it back.

I have to leave this as a negative review because once again we've gotten yet another patch that has nerfed some of the players favorite weapons instead of just buffing the unused weapons.

The weapons used were not over powered, they were simply viable good weapons.
Arrowhead could've buffed the other weapons up to par to give the players more options but instead chose to nerf everything into the ground with MINOR buffs/rebalances to the less used options.

I'm starting to feel apathetic to the game, I hardly feel excited for updates much now. They have a flamethrower DLC coming up soon that I was excited for but due to the heavy nerfs to the current flamethrower all excitement has dropped.

They still haven't fixed the thermite grenade.

My first experience with this game was not great

Option menu is extremely unreliable, settings will save at random and can even change themselves after loading into a match.

You start out with a minibird and a handful of troops. The chopper is extremely clunky, soldiers will only fire at things from their side which would be fine except turning the chopper to the correct side for your troops to fire from it is a difficult and sometimes tedious problem.

The pathing is absolutely horrendous especially in chokepoints, the final straw for me was when I tried to have a squad of 8 soldiers pass over a bridge, they would not follow the formation I set and kept walking back and forth, not following my directions. It's almost as if the bridge completely broke their pathing.

Honestly there is so much wrong with the game, I can see the potential but unless they get to polishing and bugfixing this game is going nowhere.

I love Dying Light, been waiting for this for a long time. I cannot recommend this in it's current state. Once the honeymoon stage wears off for more people I expect reviews to go down. Once I got over the excitement of finally getting Dying Light 2 I really started noticing all the problems.

This game is very much an early access title, I have zombies running vertically up large vehicle like busses and tanks. Ragdolls are jank as hell, hit registry feels off and unreliable at times. "Encounters" sometimes don't work properly, where the survivor you're meant to help just stands there and you cannot interact with them.

They removed the repair system and made it part of the modding, you can only repair a weapon by modding it which is dumbed down and terrible. So you have to use a naked weapon before modding it to get the most out of a weapon you like.

You can't craft weapons in any form, except for some consumables and throwing knifes and explosives.

The skill system is massively dumbed down, the survivor skill tree is gone entirely. What skills are there feels like less then the previous game and you have some core things locked down behind the skill tree.

You automatically run, there is no actual sprint. You cannot walk anymore. The 'sprint' is locked behind a skill further in the parkour tree.

Overall it really feels like the game has been oversimplified, extremely arcadey.

I really hope a lot of these problems get resolved and they bring back repairing, rebalancing the skill trees would be appreciated.

First game I've played since being a kid that I honestly couldn't progress because I was too spooked.

In my short time in the game, it's fantastic. I haven't run into any kind of bugs or glitches so far and the game feels very satisfying.

The English translation is very rough so you may have a hard time understanding the description for items but it's good enough that you know what the item does.

I am looking forward to more content as the game continues to be updated, definitely an early access gem.

Current in Alpha18 the performance isn't awful but it seems entirely tied to the speed of your drives and how much ram you have.

To have good performance you need at least 16gb of ram, 32gb is best.

You also need an SSD for good performance.

The devs will also give priority to streamers when releasing new updates, so the whole player base isn't allowed to play the new version until a few days after the streamers get it. You choose if that's something you're okay with.

At the moment the game itself besides performance can be pretty fun, a bit rough to learn at first. The first person animations are really bad, the bolt action rifle has a spectral floating bullet to reload.

For the time being I would wait until full release to see how the game turns out.

The game is great and easy to get into, there is a distinct lack of factions to play as at the moment as you can only play three full factions and a quarter of the fourth incomplete one. The coop is fun although frustrating as some of the units the A.I has seem incredibly unfair to fight against.
