Solid hero-shooter. Time to kill is fast and there is a huge variety of characters to play as, each character feels unique and thematic. Some characters could use another balance pass through (Jeff) but otherwise it's very fun. Progression for cosmetics and the like is agreeable. Easy to pick up, hard to put down.

An incredibly faithful remake of the original game, to the point where you can use guides from the original to complete the remake. I highly recommend picking up the game and giving it a try.

It's a fun boomer shooter set in the 40k universe. The movement is fast with a good selection of weapons and enemy variety. My only two issues are that it doesn't do a good job at conveying how much damage you take when you get hit and the moveset for two enemies (the aspiring champion and the first boss (no spoilers)) is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Took me about 8-ish hours or so to beat the campaign on Hard. Highly recommend, hope the game gets DLC or a sequel.

Full-Assed, rambling Review: Game is an OK, half finished fallout clone/borderlands game with skill checks.

Gun play is passable, weapons are unimpressive with little variety. Too easy to over-level. The perks are uninteresting, skills don't really give you any interesting abilities or bonuses. The medical, Science, and Engineering skills only ever seem to come up in dialog. The speech skills get plenty of use but, to the designer's credit, you usually can find alternate was to talk out of situations without having maxed speech skills.

Writing is good for, like, most of the game but some parts clearly had more time and effort put into them. Best part of the game is easily the first few hours. Felt like some companions had more/better writing than others. The engineer chick had a lot of good interactions in the starting town and her quest did a lot to establish her as a character. The Vicar, on the other hand, had some interesting dialog about his religion (which is never brought up again or played with) and had a short, uninteresting quest.

Ending felt rushed with a ham-fisted sequel bait thrown in. You and half the colony storm the most secure prison in the solar system (except you don't know anyone else is coming until they suddenly appear and start shooting).

You bump into the head of the board, the chairman in charge of the whole freaking colony by running through the wrong door. You've killed, like, 50 corporate troopers in the last 15 minutes but he wants to be a snarky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You have the option of convincing him to help you save the colony in the end game slide show or telling him to ♥♥♥♥ off.

You can shoot him. Just kill him dead to rights right there. No one cares.

Seriously, no one mentions anything when you magdump him. Dosen't get brought up. Ever. Last boss sucks. It's a tall robot. You kill it like all the other tall robots. Shoot the weak point until the red bar goes away.

Also, the DLC that's out is OK, shows more polish than the second half of the main game.

Quests are good and it kinda tried to do a detective noir thing for a bit. New area is like Big MT from New Vegas without the humor. Ends ok-ish but shows the main problem the game has for big decisions.

Every big quest has three optional endings: good (people/workers), bad (corporation), and Best (compromise). Same thing, every time. They don't vary it up, either.

Like, I'd say this was a good 7/10 before the ending. Maybe a 6/5 with how it ends just because of how lazy it ties things together.

I'd like to see them do more with it. The art style is cool and all the corporate towns/corporate culture stuff was interesting to explore. I feel like they focused on the first few hours more because that's what got shown off for demos and previews while the later half suffered.

Don't think it's really worth multiple playthtoughs. There's the good ending and the bad corporate ending. None of the the ♥♥♥♥ you do has any bearing besides quest rewards and the ending slideshow and even then, you usually get about the same money and xp any way you cut it.

In short, it's a pretty linear Fallout clone With decent writing and an OK sense of humor. If you liked Fallout 3, New Vegas, or borderlands and it's on sale, you can do worse than buying it. If it's 75% off, I'd get it. It's a decent time sink; I clocked in 60 hours and that was by turning over every Rock and doing every side quest I could find.
