I've played it with a GT540m + i3 POS laptop, and HD 6950 2GB and GTX 770 4GB + i5 2500k @ 4.25 GHz desktop. I've played it with some very varied system specs, and had no issues with performance or playability. I played first with an "acquired" copy and then with a Steam copy.

Umm, I never had a problem with Spider-Man. At all. All of my posts in that forum were that somehow I managed to have zero issues while other people were declaring it totally unplayable. I have Google-Fu, and therefore I can fix most of my own issues quite handily.
