I want to like it, it plays reasonably well. I can go on dashing runs be it from the full/half back lines, through the midfield and kick really cool goals on the run. Take marks and bomb it home for a goal from 50 or just outside the 50m line. In that respect it's great fun.

But the graphical glitches - super speed running AI through to the AFL 23 classic teleportation contests etc. And game crashes (during the team song after matches) really drags the game down several notches.

It's really buyer beware at this point as things like the super speed running has existed even as far back as the "fielding side chasing after a hit ball" in the first Don Bradman Cricket game. And the teleporting has been a "feature" in Big Ant titles for years. It was almost fixed during a patch in AFL 23, but it got reverted and it's never been fully addressed since.

If this was a $25-$50 title it would be passable, but as a AAA price game, it's really bothersome. If you're going to put a spotlight on the game at such a high price. Make sure it's glitch and bug free.

Gave the game a go many moons ago when I was given it for free via promotion. Didn't know what I was doing so shelved it, gave it another go some years later..... once I learned what I was doing, I had a lot of fun. And I would classify this as my "all year round" game. I can play it for 1-2 hours a night multiple nights a week.... for weeks/months on end. Occasionally force myself to have a break of 1-2 weeks then get back into it like I never left. I replaced my addiction of FIFA (early 2000's - until 2019) with this haha.

My skill level will never be as good as the pros (I am not great at doing aerial juggles etc) yet I still have the desire to compete.

This isn't my first time with the game as I already own it on other console platforms. But I had to get the Steam version on pc as well. It's a fun representation of tennis. Tricky to learn at the start but once it clicks, it's really good fun to play and hit balls around the court. Graphics are really good when cranked up (certainly a step up against the console versions).

I think it's fantastic, it brings me back to my youth spending time at the arcades with all of these classic titles, only difference is that I'm no longer pumping $1-$2 per turn into a machine lol. Admittedly not the greatest at them (getting destroyed online lol) but I am still having a blast. Will be playing this for a long time into the future. My personal GOTY so far.

Well the lead up, launch and post launch path of this game has been quite the adventure, many lows, highs and in-betweens. Opinions are rather divided on what was promised vs what the game delivered at launch as well as what's been added via the daily patches. Most reviewers and those interested in the game would be Australians who (should) have a vast knowledge on the history of games trying to replicate what Australian Rules Football is all about. Some were really great, some not so great.

There was a lot of hype for AFL '23, the hype went down like a balloon that had just been popped at launch. So many game breaking bugs present. It was as though the game was released before it was truly ready for public consumption. A lot has been done to rectify some issues, but alas a lot of things still remain and hopefully they'll be dealt with in the future.

I have been playing the game for 2 weeks and have seen the game play substantially improve across that period. But while a lot of progress has been made in fixing the game, fixing some aspects of it introduced other bugs and in some cases OLDER bugs got re-introduced. Locating errors and fixing them is a painful process for developers. A lot of the updates have seen the game take gigantic leaps forward, but a few smaller steps back.

Personally I would have picked a later date to launch the game to ensure everything was ironed out, instead of rebuilding the game on the run.

The core game is fun, you're able to kick, handball, go on long runs through the playing field, take marks, kick really amazing goals. It's just the little bits in between like teleporting tackles, AI that speeds up (like fast forwarding an old VHS tape) 3-4x faster than your own player(s) move, wonky ball physics (the footy goes from moving 'naturally' to ricocheting like a pinball or ping pong ball at an instant), invisible brick walls on the ground that you can't move past, Balls registering as scores despite being kicked over the boundary line instead of the goal line, balls registering as out of bounds/play despite being kicked through the goal posts. Player movement slow like tanks.... that combined with faster AI + teleporting tackles is a nightmare to contend with. The game play was at a good state last weekend, but updates that they have done in recent days have taken it back somewhat.

There are promising signs but a lot of negative things holding it back. I wouldn't recommend it right now (feels more like a $29.95 game rather than $99.95) but the situation can change with further patches.

A fair chunk of my childhood video gaming memories are present in this collection. I had the NES games and played the Arcade games a lot while growing up. I was happy in the late 2000's when the original arcade game was ported over to consoles. I'm even happier now that this collection exists. The young kids of today won't understand the hype, the fuss, the fan-fare about them. But they are just as addictive to me now as they were when I was younger. The games play as well today as they did back then, and going by my "time played" I think I'll be going back to the collection on a regular basis (still playing it regularly).

Originally started playing this on another platform, loved it so much I wanted to purchase it on Steam so I could play it during my down time at work (muahahahaha). Approx 21 hours on Steam so far, and yet there's still a fair chunk of the game that I am yet to discover. And I can see that we are getting some DLC shortly. The game is very addictive, and at the price well worth a purchase.

What can be said about Dark Souls that hasn't already been mentioned ? Well I'm out of ideas!! I've been playing the game since 2012 (I'm aware it came out in 2011... I did get it in Christmas of that year on console.... but my gaming backlog was so big I didn't actually play it until I got the Prepare To Die edition on pc in 2012 lol).

The game is very addictive (I should know, I own the base game on multiple systems, and have also done the same with Dark Souls: Remastered - having finally completed the set by buying the pc version a few months ago). You can forge weapons to your liking - matching the way you want to play the game (brute force or strategically etc). Just prepare to die a lot, if you mistime your weapon swing or when testing yourself by dodging multiple enemy only to get trapped and suffer the consequences of your bravado.

It's a game that I try to replay once a year and attempt to tackle it with a previously untried weapon. It's a lot of fun.

Long time fan of the series. Finally decided to purchase and play it on here. The storyline is amazing from start to finish, there are hours upon hours of enjoyment to be had.

Long time fan of the Smackdown series back in the PlayStation days. Found the series started to go downhill from 2008 - onward, finally stopped playing in 2013. Randomly decided to play 2K17 on a whim, thought the gameplay was a lot more accessible than it had been when I last played the series (2K13), graphics were good, roster was a decent selection of past and present WWE wrestlers. I didn't hesitate in re-buying the game on Steam when I had the chance. The PC version is even better than the console (superior framerate makes things a lot more fluid and just better), the only downside with playing 2K17 today is the servers no longer being online. But you can still have a lot of fun with local multiplayer and there's a lot of variety for the single player experience as well.
